Chapter 24
Mrs. Bennett was finally relieved
By the way, do you have a boyfriend? Mrs. Bennen asked Lauren
Lauren shook her head
Mrs. Bennett thought and then asked. “What kind of man do you like? I can introduce some good guy to you.”
Lauren thought that her mother, like her grandfather, cared about her so she repeated what she said to her grandfather
After lining. Mrs. Bennen seemed a little relieved and said, “It turns out that you like gentleman, then it’s good.”
What did she mean? Lauren was a little confused and she heard Mrs. Bennett say “Bandy was not gende at all. He and Sally.
grow up together and they have a deep relationship. I think he likes Sally”
Lauren had a good memory and she remembered that Sandy was the one who was supposed to dance with her last night.
Lauren was still siming on the sofa, but all the warm and soft feelings disappeared, and only the coldness remained. It turned out
thur Mrs. Bennen did not come to give her gift, nor did she care about her, but she came because of Sally:
She didn’t know Sandy at all so she couldn’t have any feelings for a man who she only met once. If Mrs. Bennett hadn’t mention
it today, she would probably never think of him.
After Mrs. Bennen mentioning him, Lauren remembered that Sandy was the reason why Sally fainted at the banquet. Was her
father threatening her not to be close to Sandy?
Suddenly, Lauren felt bored and she withdrew the towel from Mrs. Bennett. Lauren said. “I want to rest now.”
Mrs. Bennen did not notice Lauren’s mood change, and she still had some words to say. She was a litde anxious, and said directly,
““Lauren, you saw Sally faint yesterday, right? That was because she was worried that you and Sandy might get together.”
Mrs. Bennett grabbed Lauren’s hand, and her tone was a little pleading. “Lauren, please, don’t et involved in their relationshipt
They grew up together so Sandy won’t like you.”
“When did 1 get involved?” Lauren raised her head with sharp eyes, but the other hand hidden behind her back was shaking
terribly
“I know you are not involved now,” Mr. Bennett nodded and continued. “You just came back to the Bennett family and you are
still not very close to Sandy But I know you hate me and you hate Sally, because Sally took everything from you. Jealousy is
unavoidable and it is human nature so I understand you.”
“After all, when you were trying to survive outside, Sally was living as a little princess in the Bennett family. When you studied
hard at night for access to a good university, Sally can easily apply to famous colleges: When you took part-time jobs just to earn living expenses, Sally played the piano in a beautiful mansion
“Sally did take your place, but that was not her fault, Lauren. Don’t hate her. You can blame me for not taking good care of you
but please don’t take revenge on Sally and get involved in her relationship with Sandy”
Lauren did not say anything but slowly withdrew her hand from Mrs. Bennett’s. She raised her head to look at Mrs. Bennett
