Chapter 67
It can be said that when Lauren was little. Clara spent more time with her than her mother. After the Bennett family was stabilized, Clara went abroad alone and didn’t return for more than ten years.
Clara came back with a girl in her twenties.
When Mrs. Bennett saw this girl, a smile appeared on her face and she said, “You must be Erica.”
Clara, who was talking to Mr. Bennett senior, heard this and immediately said with a smile, “I forgot to introduce her! She is
Erica Finn.” The Bennett family knew Erica, but they didn’t see her in person.
Erica was the daughter of Clara’s assistant, who had been with Clara for many years. Clara liked Erica very much because she
didn’t have her own child.
Erica was not supposed to be so close to Clara but when she was 12 years old, her mother, Clara’s assistant died of liver cancer, and Erica became a child without a mother. Erica’s biological father divorced from her mother for many years and her stepmother was not willing to accept Erica. She suddenly lost her mother and her biological father was so cold that Clara decided to adopt her.
Clara didn’t force Erica to call her mother. She just wanted to give her a place to live. Erica was very filial to Clara and was kind to her. Slowly, Clara treated Erica as her daughter.
When Clara was abroad alone, everyone in the Bennett family was worried about her, and they were a little relieved when they
knew she was accompanied by Erica.
Mrs. Bennett lovingly grabbed Erica’s hand and praised her repeatedly. “She is so good-looking.”
Sally sat next to Mrs. Bennett, hugged her arm, and said, “Mom. Don’t forget me! I am your daughter!”
“You little girl,” Mrs. Bennett turned around and nodded the tip of Sally’s nose.
Because Clara returned, the maids started to get busy, some preparing lunch while some cleaning up the room. Mrs. Bennett wa happy and asked Clara, “What do you want to eat?”
