Brandon patted Nelson on the shoulder and said, "Let's go inside."
Since Brandon didn't want to talk, Nelson refrained from pushing the subject and simply nodded, following Brandon into the private room.
The dinner was enjoyable, especially with Kason and others present. Although the situation between Brandon and Olive was now "complicated," the gathering still maintained a sense of civility, giving respect to Kason and Nelson, who had organized the event.
After all, it had been a long time since they had all met, so drinks were inevitable.
Initially, Brandon had no intention of drinking, but the peer pressure and the long time since they last saw each other convinced him otherwise. Moreover, the stress from the issues at the construction site had been taking its toll on him.
When the meal ended, Brandon was the only one sober, while the others were showing signs of being tipsy.
Brandon arranged separate designated drivers for everyone and helped Kason into the car. As he turned around, he noticed Olive standing docilely behind him, looking at him with big eyes, just like she did when they were younger.
Avoiding eye contact with her, Brandon asked, "Weren't you supposed to come here with Nelson?"
Olive took a couple of steps toward Brandon, slightly tipsy, and gazed up at him. "Brandon, are you getting married?"
Brandon's expression slightly changed upon hearing her question, and he answered softly, "Yes."
After Olive heard his response, she bit her lip and asked, "Do we have any chance left?"
Perhaps due to alcohol, Olive's courage seemed to have grown, compared to earlier in the private room.
"Olive, you're drunk," Brandon replied coldly and distantly.
For some reason, Olive's eyes started to turn teary as she heard Brandon's words.
Without being rude, Brandon supported her, allowing her to stand upright, and asked, "How did you get here?"
"Brandon, I still like you, really like you..." Olive kept repeating how much she liked him.
Brandon didn't interrupt her and let her say what she needed to say.
After she finished, Brandon used one hand to support her and the other to pick up his phone to call for a car. When the car arrived, he helped Olive into it and provided the driver with the address and another number to call when they arrived. After settling the fare and giving the driver extra money, Brandon noted the license plate and allowed the car to depart.
However, just as the car was about to leave, Olive suddenly pushed the door open and got out. From behind, she hugged Brandon, her face full of tears. "Brandon, can't you give me another chance? Please?"
This scene was captured by the paparazzi who had been following Brandon around due to the recent events at the construction site. The photo of him embracing a woman late at night quickly went viral.
Furthermore, the situation escalated when someone leaked the video and pictures of Brandon with Sandy, along with the intimate photos and videos of them together.
With both scandals exposed, a new round of public opinion emerged, comparing Sandy and Olive.
Both women were stunningly beautiful, but since Sandy was younger and had taken good care of herself, the majority leaned in her favor. Moreover, Sandy had a significant fan base.
Thus, Olive's information was dug up, and her Twitter account was found. The comment section was flooded with hateful remarks.
"Aren't exes supposed to fade away?"
"After breaking up, don't you think it's decent to move on? Have some self-respect for your ancestors."
"Look at how ugly she is, yet she dares to compete with our Sandy for a man? She should go home and look in the mirror!"
The vitriolic comments were endless, as Olive was an ordinary person, and Sandy's fan base was quite formidable.
The situation became extremely chaotic.
Upon seeing the news reports, Brandon initially wanted to explain things to Sandy.
