After some contemplation, Yanis finally agreed with Zane's suggestion.
The next day at noon, Olivia paid a visit. Yanis had been dozing off on the couch, preparing to get something to eat, when the doorbell rang.
Aunt Gloria, who was quite quick on her feet, spoke up, "Mrs. Lawrence, please stay seated. I'll get the door."
Yanis acknowledged with a sound and turned to Aunt Alice, who was tidying up some small items. "Aunt, can you wash some fruit?"
Normally, Yanis was used to doing things herself, but due to Zane's orders, Aunt Alice and Aunt Gloria seemed to have radar installed on her. Apart from going to the restroom, they wouldn't let her lift a finger for anything else.
Even if she tried to fetch something, they would rush over and take it from her, ushering her to sit in the living room.
Aunt Alice responded, placing down what she was holding and preparing to wash the fruit.
However, just as she was about to stand up, she caught sight of the person Aunt Gloria had brought in. Aunt Alice's footsteps faltered for a moment. She glanced at Yanis, then shifted her gaze toward the person following Aunt Gloria.
Seeing Olivia, Yanis's initial thought was that she had come over because Yanis had told her about her pregnancy yesterday. However, Olivia's visit was indeed connected to the pregnancy, but it was also to express gratitude on behalf of Martin, as Zane had helped him sort things out.
"Why are you here?" After the conversation had been initiated the previous day, their relationship had changed. They weren't as tense with each other as before, nor were they close. They were merely acquaintances.
Olivia handed the things she was carrying to Aunt Gloria before turning her attention to Yanis. "I came to see you. It's been quite a while."
Perhaps due to all the recent chaotic events, combined with Yanis's kindness, Olivia genuinely wanted to get along well with Yanis. Even if they couldn't become like mother and daughter, Olivia still wanted to have a good and simple relationship with her.
In the past, Olivia had always had an ulterior motive when she interacted with Yanis.
Even though Yanis had never wavered in her resolve when dealing with Olivia, Olivia genuinely wanted to maintain a peaceful relationship now, akin to that of a family.
Yanis nodded. "Aunt Gloria, could you bring a glass of water, please?"
Yanis instructed Aunt Gloria before turning her attention to Olivia. "Please, have a seat."
Olivia seemed somewhat reserved as she approached and took a seat at a distance from Yanis.
After sitting down, Olivia noticed that Yanis was still standing. Almost instinctively, she stood up again, looking a bit awkward as she addressed Yanis. "You should sit too."
Yanis acknowledged with a sound and took a seat.
Once Yanis was seated, Olivia hesitated for a moment before she also resumed her seat.
Yanis maintained her usual expression, adopting a casual attitude. "Why did you come? I tried the treats Antonio brought yesterday. The taste is just as good as before."
Although the treats that Zane, Aunt Gloria, and Aunt Alice had made were delicious, they were noticeably different from Olivia's.
Certain things were better when done by a specific person. Changing the person often resulted in a different outcome.
Nevertheless, Yanis didn't have any extra thoughts about this matter now.
"If you enjoy them and want more, just give me a call. I'll make some and have Antonio bring them over whenever you want," Olivia said softly.
Yanis hesitated for a few seconds before nodding. "Alright."
