Iris then went around to the back, opened the trunk, and took out her stuff from the car.
Yanis came forward to help. When she was about to grab another bag, Iris stopped her. "Just take these and I'll take the rest."
Yanis was a little embarrassed. "Why don't I go up first and come down to help you with the rest? There are too many things, and you can't carry them all together."
After closing the trunk, Iris bent over and picked up the rest of the items. "It's not heavy, and we will take the elevator. There's no need to run again."
When Iris said this, Yanis didn't say anything more. She said thank you quietly and started walking.
After following Yanis inside, Iris looked at the empty living room, "You haven't bought everything yet?"
Yanis put the things on the ground, and said, "the sofa should be delivered tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. I will check the other things later. It's almost done, I don't need many things living alone."
"Just because I am off today, I will go with you to shop later. It is not easy for you to carry all the stuff alone. In order to thank you for helping me pick out the things for Magnus yesterday, I will do free labor for you today."
Yanis smiled and said, "Mr. Duncan, you are welcome. I just picked something for Grandpa Travis. No need to mention it. I can buy it by myself, I don't want to bother you."
Iris stood by and looked at Yanis with a smile. "Miss Thompson, are you always like this to everyone?"
When Yanis heard Iris's words, she was stunned for a moment. "No, I just don't think I should bother you."
Iris didn't give Yanis a chance to refuse, "So just assume that I was sent by Magnus to help you, okay?"
After that, it would be pretentious for Yanis to say no again.
With a chuckle, Yanis responded, "it's going to be a hard day for Mr. Duncan."
"It had been an honor to serve Miss Thompson."
The two went to the same mall they had visited the day before.
Yanis didn't drive. Iris drove his own car.
Because it was morning, there were not many people in the mall, and the parking lot was relatively empty.
Iris parked his car at the exit where they would finish their shopping.
Before getting out of the car, Iris took a phone call and Yanis went to take the shopping cart.
Iris stood beside the car, watching Yanis's back and listening to what Yanis was saying over the phone. Iris said calmly, "if they want to postpone it, let them do it. Tell them that I am not in the office today, and if they really want to do this project, let them come back tomorrow morning."
"But they're here now, Mr. Duncan."
Iris frowned. "It's your job to send them back. Why did I hire you?"
The assistant said in distress, "but Mr. Duncan, you didn't say you'd take the day off."
"And I have to give you a heads-up about my day off?"
The assistant coughed. "That's not necessary."
"Then you know what to do, that's all."
After that, Iris hung up.
Iris, with the phone in his hand, looked at Yanis standing in the line not far away and frowned slightly.
Today, he took the day off. It was just a temporary idea.
He had feelings for Yanis. He never denied it.
It was just that he didn't have much free time. Besides, he and Yanis had only met twice before today.
Both of those two situations were very casual, Magnus only made an introduction.
After that, they never met, even though the City of Manches was small.
He had planned to let Magnus hook him up when he was done with his business.
He didn't expect to meet Yanis at the mall yesterday.
