I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 410

Chapter 410 Mr. Lawrence, Are You Reminding Me?

Zane was silent for a few seconds. "I'll say that you hit me."
Myles said, "That's mean."
Zane glanced at him and asked, "What's going on between you and Anthony?"
Myles adjusted his posture, "Long story. We have been enemies for years."
Speaking of this, Myles looked sideways at Zane, "I didn't have the chance to ask just now, but how did you meet him?"
"I know his mother."
Myles was confused. "You are so social! You know people of all ages."
Zane glanced at him and said, "Last year, the Lawrence Group had a tourism project, and the person in charge happened to be his mother. So, I met her a few times after that."
Myles said, "Anthony's father is a jerk. He often fools around with people in the black market. Anthony wants to take over this area from me just to kick his dad out."
"Why didn't he just ask you for help?"
Myles shook his head, "I can't help."
Zane originally wanted to ask why, but he swallowed his words at the last minute.
It was Anthony's business after all. It had nothing to do with him.
So he didn't say anything.
Myles was talkative. After a while of silence, he found another subject. "Anyone could tell that Iris likes Yanis, and you just let her go to Duncan Residence by herrself?"
Hearing what Myles said, Zane tightened his hand on the steering wheel and said, "They're just friends."
Upon hearing this, Myles groaned, "Aren't you jealous?"
"Are you bored?"
Myles smiled, "I'm so lucky to have Bonnie."
Zane glanced at Myles and said nothing.
There was quite a distance between the black market and Duncan Residence.
By the time they arrived, it was almost nine o'clock.
Zane parked the car in front of Duncan's Residence, then called Yanis.
Yanis answered almost instantly. "Zane?"
Zane replied, "I'm at the door."
Then he added, "Myles is here too."
Yanis responded, "We'll come out right away."
Zane answered and hung up the phone.
Seeing Zane hang up the phone, Myles unbuckled his seat belt. "Anthony won't let things go easily. Your sister will be in trouble if you don't interfere."
"I see," said Zane.
Seeing that Zane had nothing to say, Myles hesitated, "Maybe I can help you..."
"No thanks."
Myles nodded, "Okay."
Iris escorted Yanis and Bonnie out.
The three walked side by side, talking and laughing.
Myles leaned against the car window and looked at the three, frowning slightly, "I know Iris has no feelings for Bonnie, but I don't like seeing them walking together like that. How come you don't even feel anything?"
Then, Myles opened the door and got out of the car before Zane responded.
He walked straight to Bonnie and pulled her to his side. "Mr. Duncan."
Iris nodded to Myles, "Mr. Hughes."
Bonnie turned around. She noticed the wound on Myles's face when she was about to speak to him. She frowned, "Did you have a fight?"
"No, I was playing against Evan and there was a little accident."
"What kind of sports?"
Myles took Bonnie's hand, "I'll tell you when we get back."
After speaking, Myles looked at Yanis, "Zane is in the car. Bonnie and I are going now."
Yanis nodded, "Okay, safe drive. "
After Myles and Bonnie left, Yanis greeted Iris and walked to the car.
"Yanis."
Iris called out.
Yanis stopped and looked back at Iris, "Yes?"
Iris walked towards Yanis, "Can I... can I hug you?"
After hearing what Iris said, Yanis was a little startled. "Iris, I..."
Iris stepped forward and hugged Yanis before she could finish her words.
When Zane saw this scene, he opened the door, got out of the car, and walked toward Yanis and Iris.
Iris let go of Yanis when Zane came over, and whispered something in Yanis' ear, "I wish you happiness."
After that, Iris took a step back and kept a safe distance from Yanis.
Yanis looked at Iris, and nodded after a few seconds, "Thank you."
Zane stepped forward and pulled Yanis into his arms, then looked at Iris, his tone a little cold, "Mr. Duncan."
Iris responded, "Drive safe."
Zane stared at Iris.
Iris didn't avoid his gaze.
The two looked at each other. So many things were unspoken.
Yanis coughed lightly to break the brief silence, "Alright, bye,"
Iris looked at Yanis, "Okay."
Yanis turned to Zane and said softly, "Let's go home."
Zane hummed and pulled Yanis into the car.
After Yanis got into the car, Zane closed the door.
Then he walked towards Iris.
Seeing Zane, Iris raised her eyebrows. "Mr. Duncan, I suppose you know my relationship with Yanis, don't you?"
Iris smiled, "Mr. Lawrence, are you reminding me?"
"Yes."
Iris laughed softly, "I like Yanis, but I won't hurt your relationship. Love is not possessiveness. I'm happy seeing her happy. Mr. Lawrence. You don't have to be so hostile to me."
There was no expression on Zane's face, "I hope you'll do what you say, Mr. Duncan."
Iris understood what Zane meant. He nodded, "Sure."
Zane didn't say anything. He turned around and got into the car.
Iris stood still and watched Zane's car drive away. Then he looked down at the earrings he just took off from Yanis' ears, helplessness flashing in his deep eyes.
Since when he started to be so outrageous?
But he couldn't control his feelings.
Putting the earrings in his pocket, he turned and entered the door.
Magnus, who was standing at the door, saw what had happened.
Meeting Magnus's eyes, Iris coughed lightly, "Do you miss them already? We can invite them over at any time."
Magnus snorted softly, "Zane would tear this place down if that happened!"
