Chapter 643: Can he bully me?

After Bonnie left, Yanis hesitated for a moment before picking up his phone and sending a message to Zane.
The response came quickly: "Yanis, we're on the same wavelength. I was just about to send you a message."
Yanis smiled as he read Zane's message. "Coming back today?"
"Getting into Manches City around 9 o'clock. Meet me?"
Yanis sent a voice message back immediately: "Nancy's engagement party is tonight. Bonnie and I are heading over to the hotel now. It should be over around 8 or 9 o'clock. Give me a call when you get there."
Zane called right away.
Seeing the incoming call, Yanis answered immediately, "Hello?"
"Are you driving?" Zane's voice came through the phone.
"No, we haven't left yet. Bonnie is changing clothes," Yanis replied.
"You had something to ask me earlier?"
Yanis hesitated for a moment before lowering his voice and asking, "Have you been in contact with Myles these past few days?"
"Nope, why do you ask?"
Thinking of Bonnie's actions earlier, Yanis said,"Tell him that if he doesn't think things through soon enough then Bonnie will go marry someone else."
After hearing what Yanis said, Zane was stunned for a moment."Marry someone else? "
"Yeah. There's this really handsome guy who is pursuing her, and she thinks he looks better than Myles. So, she has some feelings for him and plans on leaving with him."
Yanishardly ever spoke such falsehoods, but it just slipped out today. Zanesilently listened after hearing what she said. After several seconds of silence, Zanesaid,"How do I compare? Who looks better between us two?"
Hearing Zane's question, Yanissuddenly froze."Compare with you? Compare what?"
"The man who pursuesBonnie."
Unable to resist Zane's childishness at times, Yani burst out laughing."He isn't pursuing me. What are we comparing?"
"The man who pursuesBonnie,"Zanedemanded persistently.
Feeling helpless against Zanesometimes, Yani finally gave in."You're handsome."
Satisfied with Yani's answer, Zanesaid on the other end of the line,"I'll pass along your words to Myles."
"Okay," Yani replied.
Just as Yani finished talkingtoZane, Bonnie came down from upstairs."Let's go. I'm ready."Bonnie didn't realize Yanis was on the phone until she came down and made a disgusted face. She deliberately shouted towards the phone, "Yanis, Iris is looking for you, hurry up!"
"Iris is also coming?"
Zane's voice on the other end of the phone immediately became serious.
Yanis said, "No, Nancy doesn't know Iris well. Bonnie just said that."
"I'll be there at nine o'clock. Wait for me," Zane said.
"Okay," Yanis responded.
The two chatted casually for a few more sentences before hanging up under Bonnie's urging.
After Yanis hung up the phone, Bonnie looked at him with great disdain. "You guys made up? You're already so lovey-dovey right after making up? Are we still having dinner or not?"
"We didn't make up. I just asked him something."
"What could you possibly ask? Did you ask Scumbag when he's coming back? Are you anxious to go home with him?" Bonnie nagged like a shrew for a long time without giving Yanis any chance to interrupt her.
Yanis decided not to say anything and listened until she finished before speaking again. "Are you thirsty? Shall I get you a bottle of water to drink later?"
When Bonnie heard what Yanis said, she glared at him and exclaimed: "You prioritize your girlfriend over your friends!"
Yanis smiled and caught up with Bonnie saying: "I prioritize you."
"Then if both of us fall into water while swimming with Zane who would you save?"
"I'll save you," replied Yanis confidently.
"I don't believe it."
"I really will save you," promised Yanis firmly.
Bonnie snorted lightly and retorted: "Scumbag can swim too right?"
This made Yanis laugh out loud.
By the time they arrived at Nancy's engagement party hotel it was almost six o'clock in the evening.
Nancy had previously worked as an agent in Gotrend Entertainment so most of her friends were from entertainment industry circles.
There were even many celebrities present tonight.
Bonnie and Yanishad walked around once when they found many familiar faces among them.
"The atmosphere here feels like it's more like wedding than an engagement party; we might as well get married now," commented Bonniewhile looking at Nancy.
Nancy laughed then replied: "I thought so too but my husband says that none of these steps can be skipped."
"You're not such a good person either!" sneered Bonniesuddenly feeling irritable tonight; she couldn't stand seeing others being affectionate towards each other anymore.
Nancy seemed confused by this sudden change in attitude from her friend while staring blanklyat her face full of confusion..
"Don't mind her; she needs someone to take care of her these days," explained Yannis kindly. Nancy didn't know what had happened between Myles and Bonnie in the past few days, so she chuckled when she heard Yanis' words. "Mr. Myles bullied you?"
Bonnie snorted, "Can he bully me? I dumped him!"
After speaking, Bonnie looked at Nancy and whispered, "Nancy, do you know any high-quality men around you? Can you introduce one to me?"
Nancy looked at her in shock. "Are you serious?"
"Do I look like I'm joking?" Bonnie replied.
Yanis shook his head at Nancy and said, "You go about your business. Don't mind her. She's a little abnormal today and made a fool of herself."
Nancy smiled and continued with what Bonnie had said earlier. "I actually do know someone who is not too familiar to me but we've dealt with each other on a case before. He's a lawyer with good character."
"A lawyer sounds great! Is he handsome?" Bonnie leaned in towards Nancy as if she was really interested.
Nancy nodded her head. "He's quite good-looking actually; let my husband introduce him to you since they have better relations."
"Okay then! If it works out, I'll treat you to dinner!" promised Bonnie.
"No problem," replied Nancy.
Although they spoke this way, Nancy still kept some caution within herself; she didn't really ask her husband to introduce anyone for Bonnie.
But later on when they saw someone talking with Nancy's husband nearby them Lane stood out from the crowd causing some surprise for both Yanis and Bonnie who noticed him too."The Manches City circle is really small," commented Bonny after seeing Lane beside Nacy's husband
Yanis followed Bonny's gaze towards Lane standing beside Nacy's husband which caused him some shock as well: "Indeed it isn't big."
Coincidentally at that moment Lane also noticed Bonny & Yanis looking his way while holding up his wine glass towards them before walking over after having spoken briefly with Nacy's Husband beforehand: "You guys are here too?" asked Lane upon reaching them
Bonnie responded immediately: "Do tell us that You're acquainted with Nacy's Husband?"
Lane nodded affirmatively saying: "We've been roommates for many years now."
After hearing this response from lane, Bonnie gasped loudly asking," So the handsome lawyer that nacy mentioned earlier must be You then?"
Lane was confused by this question asking," What do You mean?"
