Chapter 642: Do I Have to Be with Myles?
Zane was satisfied with the recording he had saved and began to help Yanis with his food. "Eat more," he said.
Perhaps because of the great achievement they had today, Zane ate more than usual during this meal. He helped Yanis with his food, refilled his water, and talked about this and that.
Yanis wanted to interrupt him a few times, but seeing how happy Zane looked, he didn't want to spoil his mood and let him have fun.
It was already past one o'clock when they finished their meal. Yanis had an appointment for measurements so they didn't stay long before heading back to the studio.
Zane also needed to go to Viteto in the afternoon as Albi had already booked their tickets.
Because of what Yanis said earlier, Zane felt like time passed too quickly today. It seemed like half of it went by in a blink of an eye.
Yanis looked at Zane hesitantly as if wanting to say something but holding back. "Is there anything else?" he asked finally.
Zane stepped forward and discreetly shielded Yanis from the sun before leaning closer. "Yanis, I won't be able to come back for two days," he said softly.
"I know," Yanis nodded in understanding.
"That means I won't be able see you for two days."
Yanis remained silent while looking at him intently.
Zane's Adam's apple bobbed up and down as his gaze landed on Yanis' lips which made him feel restless inside.
"If you want... I can cooperate," Zane finally spoke after a momentary pause.
As soon as those words left his mouth, Zane acted upon them by pressing her against the car door before kissing her deeply...
After all it was still daytime outside in a busy parking lot so both were restrained despite feeling light-headed after their kiss.
Especially Zane who almost wrote 'I held myself back' on his face!
"Call me if you need anything?" As Yannis sat behind the wheel readying himself for departure from work she heard these words from outside where Zanes stood beside her car door talking .
"I got it," Yannis replied impatiently urging him away knowing that Albi has been waiting for quite some time now."
Albi parked nearby watching silently while Yannis drove off leaving behind memories of wedding season fever during these two days that Zanes spent away at Viteto . Yanis and Bonnie were both very busy. They were either on their way to measure clients for custom designs or working in the store, sketching and designing. Sometimes they were so busy that they didn't even have time to eat on schedule.
Perhaps because she was too busy, Bonnie had temporarily "forgotten" about Myles. Yanis wanted to say something every time he saw Bonnie standing there in a daze, but the words always got stuck in his throat.
In Yanis's mind, Myles was always a sensible person. So the fact that he could do such an immature thing probably meant that he was afraid - afraid that he couldn't be with Bonnie for long enough or grow old with her.
That's why he hadn't come to see her all this time.
Time always flew by when you're busy. Zane's appointment was delayed slightly and by the third day, he still hadn't returned yet.
Today happened to be Nancy's engagement ceremony. The night before, Nancy had sent them an invitation asking them to attend together with her.
It was fortunate that the engagement ceremony was scheduled for evening as otherwise they wouldn't have had any free time during daytime hours.
"I can't take it anymore!" Bonnie collapsed onto Yanis weakly. "Yanis, let me lean on you for a while."
Yanis stopped what he was doing and turned his head to look at Bonnie leaning against him. "Are you done over there?"
"There are still some finishing touches left," said Bonnie wearily,"The client is coming at six tomorrow morning to pick up their order and I'll have to work overtime tonight."
"Can Linda help?" asked Yanis
"No way," replied Bonnie decisively."This client has really high standards; even the slightest flaw won't do! Linda has poor nighttime vision; if anything goes wrong she'll cry herself sick."
Bonnie continued,"She'll also need overtime from now on."
"She can handle most things just fine but not these delicate clients," said Bonny shaking her head."I feel more comfortable doing it myself."
After saying this, Bonnie stood up again."Is this Nancy's wedding ring?" she asked pointing at Yanis' hand
Bonnie nodded after taking a closer look."I made some slight modifications. Nancy said her husband didn't like it much so I changed it around. It's lucky I did it before production started or else we wouldn't be able make changes now."
Bonnie looked at it for awhile longer then spoke again,"Her man is straight, right? Why do I feel like last version of ring design is better?"Yanis saved the design, "Everyone has different tastes. Someone else might think this is good."
Bonnie rolled her eyes and casually swiped Yanis's tablet. By chance, she stumbled upon the engagement ring that Yanis had helped her design.
As soon as Bonnie saw the completed ring on screen, she froze mid-motion and stared at it for a while.
"Yanis, do you think Myles suddenly realized he's been sick of me all these years and wants to distance himself from me?"
Bonnie's voice was soft and tender, making anyone who heard it feel a little heartbroken.
Yanis put his arm around Bonnie. "What do you think Myles has been like towards you all these years?"
"He's been great. I feel like no one else treats me as well as he does," Bonnie replied.
Everyone could see how much effort Myles put into anything related to Bonnie. He always went above and beyond to make things perfect for her.
But now he suddenly broke up with her without any explanation or warning – something that shocked everyone who heard about it.
If Yanis hadn't heard the details from Zane on what happened with Myles, he might have also dwelled on it or even thought that maybe Bonnie had become too annoying for him to handle anymore – just like what Bonnie herself was thinking now.
But in reality, things were completely different than they seemed.
Bonnie looked at the engagement ring on the tablet for a while longer before asking Yanis: "Is this done yet?"
"It is," Yanis responded. "Why do you ask?"
"I want someone to make it so I can give it away! Do you really believe I can't find someone else besides Myles? Give me a break!"
With an air of defiance in her face, Bonnie stood firm in her decision: She would give this ring away no matter what!
"Who are you giving it to?" asked Yanis curiously.
"That's none of your business! Just hurry up and send over those designs so they can start working on them ASAP!" exclaimed Bonnie impatiently.
Yanis sighed helplessly but still sent over the designs with an urgent order request per Bonnies' request.
"All set then?" asked Bonnies excitedly clapping hands together."I'll go get ready; meet me downstairs when we're done here."
"You go ahead; I'll tidy up here first then join you later," said Yaniss obediently before watching Bonnies leave his apartment building with determination written all over her face.
