I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 656

Chapter 656: If the Lawrence family needs me, I will be a witness!

Upon hearing Yanis say that Iris was okay, Anika visibly breathed a sigh of relief. Yanis pressed the call button and had a nurse come to check on Anika's condition. After the examination, the nurse removed Anika's oxygen mask and replaced it with an oxygen tube.
"Brother, I'm fine," Anika whispered to Zane who had been frowning at her.
Zane simply looked at her without saying anything. Yanis glanced over at Iris standing by their side and pulled Zane's hand, "Zane, I'm feeling a bit hungry. Let's go grab something to eat with Iris here."
Upon hearing this from Yanis, Zane looked over at Iris before saying, "I don't feel comfortable leaving him alone."
"Zane," Yanis forcibly pulled him out of the hospital room.
Turning around to close the door behind them he said: "Iris is not feeling good about this either; don't take it out on him."
Although this whole situation was caused by Iris in some way or another, he was still an innocent bystander in all of this. Anna's actions were too extreme for anyone to have anticipated that she would show up in Antique City and run into both Iris and Anika together like that.
Yanis spent quite some time trying to calm down Zane before finally succeeding. "Are you hungry?" He asked after they left the room.
"Not really," replied Yanis with a smile as he turned towards Zane again: "Let me ask what Anika wants; we can go buy something for her."
Zane realized that earlier on when Yanis suggested they leave so that there could be some space between Iris and Anika for them to talk privately - which is why he didn't give them much time alone together - but now seeing how things are going well between them both made him feel more relaxed about everything.
Inside the hospital room:
Iris stood awkwardly next to Anika's bed looking guilty as she watched her lying there helplessly. She opened her mouth wanting desperately wanting say something but ended up apologizing first instead: "I'm sorry."
"It wasn't your fault," said Anikas softly from under all those tubes attached onto her body making it difficult for her speak properly,
After hearing what she said though his eyebrows furrowed slightly indicating his displeasure towards Anna's behavior earlier today: "Don't worry about Anna; I'll handle everything."
Anikas nodded lightly while looking at iris who seemed full of guilt right now before whispering gently back: "Don't worry about me; I'm fine."
It was fortunate enough that nothing serious happened during their encounter because if anything did happen then iris would never forgive herself even if it wasn't entirely due solely upon herself since she felt responsible somehow someway regardless just being present there made things worse than they already were.
Although Yannis gave iris enough time alone with anikas ten minutes later zanes walked into their room without any warning followed closely behind by yaniss who didn't stop him either way despite knowing how important privacy meant especially during times like these where emotions ran high among people involved such as themselves right now inside this small cramped hospital room filled only with medical equipment humming quietly away in background noise while everyone tried hard not let their feelings get best of themselves amidst all chaos surrounding them currently happening outside these four walls enclosing around each other tightly within confines space available here today... Anika was now able to eat some liquid food, and Yanis prepared to go buy some porridge for her.
But Iris spoke up first, saying that he would go buy it.
Iris wanted to go, and Yanis knew that Iris still felt guilty about Anika. He didn't refuse and said, "I'll come with you."
As soon as Yanis said this, Zane immediately looked at him. It was as if he had the words "unwilling" written on his forehead.
Yanis discreetly reached out and squeezed Zane's hand. "What do you want to eat? I'll help you buy it."
Zane remained silent for a few seconds before finally giving in under Yanis' gaze. "The same thing as you."
Yanis nodded. "You stay here with Anika for a while; Iris and I will go get something to eat."
Zane reluctantly agreed with an unenthusiastic nod.
Just as Yanis and Iris were about to leave the room to get food, someone pushed open the door of the ward.
Bonnie came in with Myles.
"What brings you guys here?" asked Yanis.
"I heard that Anika got hurt," Bonnie replied. "After Myles finished his IV drip, we came over together."
"You guys wait here for a bit; Iris and I will go get something to eat," said Yanis.
Bonnie nodded in agreement: "Okay."
Yanis went out of the ward with Iris by his side towards the elevator when he whispered softly: "Don't blame yourself too much."
Iris responded quietly but didn't say anything more after that.
In fact, even though they both understood what happened was due largely because of him - how could they not feel guilty?
But since everything had already happened, feeling guilty wouldn't change anything anyway...
Fortunately enough though - Anika wasn't seriously hurt; this was truly fortunate indeed!
So both Yanis and Iris bought some food nearby before bringing it back into the hospital room where they met someone calling out behind them:
"Iris!"
Hearing this voice made her stop walking abruptly before turning around briefly towards where she heard it from then looking back at Yanish saying: "You take these things up first."
Yanish glanced over at the man standing behind them then took hold of their bags from her hands without any further questions or objections: "Alright then… I'll bring these things upstairs first."
"Sure," replied iris calmly while watching him walk away into hospital lobby carrying their bags full of food supplies meant for Anika who must be starving by now…
She stood there waiting patiently until she saw who called out earlier coming closer towards her direction...
