Chapter 664: Let Them Talk About Their Own Feelings
"Iris is over there," Yanis replied to Bonnie's inquiry. "He still feels guilty about Anika, so he's been staying there the past few days and hasn't gone to the office."
After hearing Yanis' words, Bonnie was silent for a few seconds before speaking up. "Is it just because this happened because of him and not for any other reason?"
Yanis was confused by Bonnie's question. "What are you trying to say?"
Bonnie continued, "Anika is not young anymore, and she has feelings for Iris that you are aware of." She paused before adding, "As for Iris, even though he had some issues with you before, he is a very sensible person. Don't you think Iris treats Anika differently than others?"
After listening to Bonnie speak for a while longer, Yanis began to see what she meant.
However, matters of the heart often require mutual understanding between two people involved in the relationship; otherwise outsiders may end up complicating things further.
"This matter should be discussed between them; we can't rush them," Yanis said.
Bonnie nodded in agreement. "I know that but I think they would make a great couple if they got together."
Yanis hummed in response. "Let's leave it at that; I have to go now or else my client will get impatient."
"Drive safely and call me when you're done with work later tonight," Bonnie reminded him as he left.
"I know," Yanis replied before heading off towards his meeting place at the tea house on the left bank.
The person he was meeting was a dessert enthusiast who frequented that particular tea house often enough that they agreed upon it as their meeting spot.
Driving from his studio took some time due to traffic lights along the way so by the time Yanis arrived it was already almost 2pm.
"Sorry I'm late," Yanis apologized upon arrival.
The person waiting for him turned out to be a young man accompanied by what appeared to be an underage girl sitting next to him.
"You must be Yanis?" The man asked after glancing at his face briefly.
Upon hearing his tone and attitude towards him, Yanisslightly flinched but still politely nodded his head saying: "Yes."
"My girlfriend says your jewelry and accessories are really good; could you recommend some items for her?" The man asked while looking back atthe girl besidehim who shyly nodded her head saying: "Sister Thompson's stuff is good."Yanis was caught off guard by Sister Thompson's greeting. "Hello," she managed to reply.
Yanis showed the little girl the styles they had in store, but there wasn't anything she particularly liked. Yanis then handed her own sketches to the girl and said, "These are my own designs. You can take a look and we can make them according to your needs."
The man glanced at the tablet that the little girl was holding, initially showing some disdain in his eyes. However, he quickly became impressed with what he saw on it.
"Are you a jewelry designer?" The man asked Yanis after studying her sketches for a while.
Yanis nodded and said, "I used to focus on design."
The man nodded approvingly and complimented her generously: "Your designs are much better than what you have in your store."
"This one is very pretty." The little girl finally selected an entire set of jewelry - bracelets, necklaces, rings and an anklet.
"In terms of time frame for this piece," Yanis explained hesitantly," it may take a bit longer - up to two months at best."
"No rush," replied the little girl calmly. Her voice was soothing to listen to.
"I will try my best to expedite everything as much as possible while ensuring quality assurance across all aspects." Yanis reassured them softly.
"How much is the deposit?" The man cut straight into business after settling on their order details.
"The total cost for this set is 1. 86 million yuan (approximately $280k USD), with a deposit of 1 million yuan (approximately $150k USD) required upfront." Yanis replied without hesitation.
Without further ado or questions from him regarding pricing or discounts available etc., he transferred money directly into her account right away!
"Thank you!" exclaimed Yanis who didn't expect such swift action from him at all!
"When it's ready just contact us directly; we will come over for inspection before settling any remaining balances." The man instructed firmly yet politely
"Okay!" agreed Yanis readily before handing over receipts along with their order details: "I heard that your girlfriend likes sweets so I've ordered their signature dessert which will be delivered later."
Upon hearing this news from Yanis herself , the little girl smiled sweetly towards her saying ,"Thank you Sister Thompson!"
Yaniss nodded back politely before excusing herself: "That's settled then; I have some other matters I need attend too now."
"You go ahead," said the man kindly as they watched her leave together with their precious purchase safely tucked away under his arm .
In Manches City every year during early summer season , there would always be heavy rainfall . When Yanis arrived, the sky was clear, but soon after it became overcast with clouds. She hadn't anticipated rain, so she didn't bring an umbrella. Her car was parked across the street, and even if she ran through the heavy rain, she would still get soaked.
Yanis stood at the door for a moment before deciding to just run across. But as soon as she lifted her foot to step forward, someone grabbed her arm.
Yanis froze for a moment before turning to see who had stopped her. When she saw Mitch standing in front of her holding an umbrella, she was surprised. "Mitch?"
Mitch handed Yanis his umbrella and said, "It rains all the time here. Remember to bring an umbrella when you go out."
Yanis steadied herself and didn't immediately take Mitch's offered umbrella. Instead, she asked him why he was there.
"Today is Reed's birthday," Mitch replied as he gestured towards a nearby bakery where he had ordered a cake for Reed.
Yanis had been busy lately and hadn't seen Mia or Marnon in days or visited them at the hospital either.
"Today?" Yanis asked incredulously.
Mitch nodded his head in confirmation and said,"Are you leaving? Take my umbrella with you."
But Yanis declined his offer by checking her watch instead of taking his offered protection from the rain."I'm not in that much of a hurry; let's go together to get Reed's cake since I've been too busy lately."
"I wasn't planning on celebrating," Mitch admitted while looking at Yanis curiously."Do you have time tonight?"
"Yes," Yanis replied without hesitation."Later we can buy some things together like ingredients for cooking something delicious."
She didn't mention taking them out to eat because they wouldn't come anyway; it would be better if they bought food themselves and cooked something up at home instead.
After confirming that there were no urgent matters requiring their attention right away, Mitch followed along with Yanisto shopatthe mall. They picked up some gifts from various stores, and finally, Yanispurchaseda new phoneforReedas abirthday giftbefore heading back home togetherwithMitchto cook dinnerand celebrate. Reed'sbirthdaywasn't goingto be forgotten anytime soon!
