The car quickly pulled up to the Lawrence's Mansion. Zane opened the door and walked around to help Yanis out of the car. "Take it slow," he said.
Yanis looked at Zane's outstretched hand and took it, using it for support as he got out of the car. "Are Uncle Dylan and them here tonight?" he asked.
Zane glanced over at Yanis before answering, "Grandma didn't say."
Yanis closed the car door behind him and followed Zane into the Lawrence's Mansion side by side.
"Brother, sister-in-law," Phoebe greeted them as they entered. She was standing in front of some flowers in the courtyard.
"Why aren't you inside?" Yanis asked her.
Phoebe shrugged her shoulders, "It doesn't suit me."
After speaking with Zane for a moment, Phoebe turned to him again and said, "Brother, why don't you go inside first? I'll chat with sister-in-law outside for a bit."
Zane nodded his head in agreement before letting go of Yanis' hand and heading inside.
"When did you get back?" Yanis asked Phoebe softly as he sat down on a nearby chair.
"This morning," she replied. "I had a client project over here so I came to check things out."
"And did everything work out okay?" Yanis wondered aloud.
Phoebe nodded her head before continuing on with her story: "I actually found something this morning that I really liked but then my dad called me saying my mom had fainted so now I'm back here."
Concerned about Aunt Rachel's health status after hearing this news from Phoebe earlier on their way there, Yanis asked if she was okay now?
"She's fine," Phoebe reassured him with a shake of her head. "She's just mad at me right now because she set up an arranged marriage meeting without telling me."
"An arranged marriage meeting?!" exclaimed Yanis incredulously upon hearing this news from his sister-in-law who seemed quite unhappy about it all herself too..
"Yeah," sighed Phoebe heavily."I don't want to be married off yet."
Yanis wasn't sure what advice or suggestions he could offer since he'd never experienced anything like that himself before either: "Do you have any ideas?"
"I can't think of anything right now," admitted Phoebe dejectedly."All I know is that I'm not ready for marriage yet."
"Have you talked to Aunt Rachel about how you feel?" suggested Yanishopefully .
"I told her how i felt already but obviously she didn't listen," replied phobe feeling helpless about situation
The two continued chatting until eventually they decided it was time to join everyone else inside.."Do you not want to get married?"
As soon as Phoebe spoke, Zane's voice came from behind her.
Yanis and Phoebe turned around to see Zane sitting next to Yanis. He looked at Phoebe and said, "Aunt Rachel has bad taste."
Upon hearing this, Phoebe looked at Zane with a questioning look. "Brother, that guy is no good, right?"
Zane nodded in agreement. "I met him before..."
But then he suddenly stopped speaking.
The meal went well, and Mrs. Weeks was pleased with Phoebe. She almost sealed the deal at the dinner table.
After seeing him off, everyone sat down to discuss this matter.
"Aunt Rachel, I think we should let Phoebe take things slow," Yanis said timely as he poured water for Rachel.
Rachel and Dylan looked at Yanis simultaneously when he spoke up.
Yanis had a calm expression on his face as he asked Phoebe what she thought about it.
"I also think so," Phoebe quickly chimed in. "I wanted to say that earlier but I didn't want you guys to get angry."
Rachel knew Yanis wasn't one to meddle in other people's business, so after hearing him out, she turned to him and whispered softly: "Yanis, do you have something else to say?"
Yanis glanced at Zane before replying: "I heard from Zane that he saw Mr. Weeks at a nightclub before; his company is surrounded by questionable characters. Maybe you should get Linda better acquainted with him before deciding whether or not they should be together?"
Zane and Phoebe both looked over at Yanis after hearing what he said since Zane only mentioned half of it earlier outside - just that Mr. Weeks wasn't reliable enough.
Zane cleared his throat lightly: "I agree with Yanis; Auntie needs to know more about him before making any decisions."
Dylan turned towards Rachel on this topic: "You didn't even bother getting more information about him? You just brought someone home like that?"
"How would I know?" Rachel replied helplessly while shaking her head." He came twice already when picking up his mother; we all thought he seemed decent enough together - several of us agreed on inviting him over here... who knew..."
"Mrs. Lawrence is right," Old Mrs. Lawrence interjected timely." This matter requires caution; don't wait until after marriage only then realize what kind of person they are - let's not make Linda suffer."
