I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 719

Chapter 719: Mr. Lawrence's Hidden Depths

Upon hearing the voice, Bonnie looked up and smiled politely at Ahmed. "Ahmed, long time no see."

"Long time no see," Ahmed replied.

Yanis didn't greet Ahmed as formally as before and just nodded in response.

"And who is this?" Ahmed's gaze fell on Ivan.

Actually, Ahmed knew who Ivan was but pretended not to recognize him.

Bonnie introduced Ivan while holding onto his arm. "Ivan, this is Ahmed."

Ahmed reached out his hand towards Ivan. "Hello, Ivan."

Ivan looked at the extended hand but didn't shake it with a polite smile on his face. "Sorry, it's just a personal preference of mine not to shake hands with strangers."

When Bonnie and Yanis heard what Ivan said, they were shocked and looked at him simultaneously. When did he have such a personal preference? They had never heard of it before.

However, when Ahmad heard what Ivan said he silently withdrew his hand back. "It's OK".

Ahmed wanted to talk to Yanis after responding, but Yanis turned towards Zane and whispered something in a low tone instead.

Standing awkwardly in front of everyone, Ahmad tried to keep himself smiling since there were people around them watching them closely.

"Yanis," he said finally breaking the silence "there are several people over there from your previous class. Do you want me to go over there and say hello?"

Before Yanis could respond, Bonnie spoke up first with a hint of distance in her tone: "Ahmed, Yanis is here tonight accompanying Mr. Lawrence, so she might not be able to go over there together since we're all unfamiliar with each other." She paused for effect before continuing: "It wouldn't be appropriate for us to make small talk if we don't know each other well enough, so we'll stay here instead while you can go ahead."

Although her words sounded polite enough, the distance between them was palpable, which made Ahmad feel uneasy especially when he caught Zane looking at him directly . So after Bonnie finished speaking, he simply nodded once more. "Alright then, I'll go say hello by myself. See you guys later."

After Ahmad left, Bonnie frowned slightly. "Doesn't this guy have any shame? Can't he tell that nobody wants him around ? He insisted on staying here even though nobody welcomed him. If I wasn't trying my best ladylike behavior earlier, I would've given him some lessons on how to behave properly ."

After saying this, Bonnie seemed to have thought of something and turned to look at Ivan. "You really dare to speak up, and you have a personal reason for not liking to shake hands with strangers. When did you develop such a cleanliness obsession? Why didn't I know about it?"

Ivan smiled and said, "Just got it."

Bonnie chuckled, "This quirk is really timely."

"That's necessary. He's targeting on Yanis. How can I let him off easily?"

Bonnie nodded. "Yeah, I'll beat him up in a sack where no one is."

The speaker has no particular intention in saying something, but the listener reads his own meaning into it.

After Bonnie finished speaking, Zane leaned in to Yanis and whispered, "Yanis, should I have Albi bring over a burlap sack?"

Yanis didn't understand Zane's meaning at first, but after a moment of buffering, he finally got it and asked, "What do you want to do?"

"Punch him."

Yanis gently pinched his hand and said, "Forget it, dirtying your hands isn't worth it."

Zane nodded and said, "I'll listen to you."
