During dinner earlier, when Old Mrs. Lawrence kept serving her food, Yanis had already suspected something. Now, with Old Mrs. Lawrence openly discussing it, Yanis felt a bit overwhelmed. After all, having gone through two incidents like that, Yanis still had some lingering fear. She was afraid of any potential risks. She couldn't afford to take any chances. When it came to this matter, Yanis had thought about it, but every time the thought crossed her mind, she couldn't help but recall the previous two experiences. Each time, those experiences made her reluctant to dwell on the subject. However, she hadn't expected this matter to be brought up so formally now.
"Yanis, do you have any concerns?" Old Mrs. Lawrence asked when Yanis remained silent for a while.
Upon hearing Old Mrs. Lawrence's question, Yanis snapped back from her wandering thoughts and looked at Old Mrs. Lawrence. She gently shook her head and said, "No, I think we should let things happen naturally. Forcing it wouldn't be appropriate."
Old Mrs. Lawrence, recalling the previous incidents, softly spoke, "I'm not pressuring you. I just want to remind you. You're both not young anymore, and it's time to have a child. Besides, it won't be good for you in the future if you wait until you're older. So, just keep this matter in mind."
Yanis nodded. "Okay, I'll talk to Zane and let things happen naturally."
Relieved to hear Yanis agree, Old Mrs. Lawrence said, "By the way, have you tried the remedy Sophia gave you?"
Upon hearing Old Mrs. Lawrence mention the remedy, Yanis couldn't help but cough lightly. "Yes, I have."
"That's good. We paid Sophia quite a bit for it," Old Mrs. Lawrence said.
"Quite a bit? Where did you get that remedy?" Yanis asked.
Old Mrs. Lawrence replied, "We ran into someone selling it while we were out for a walk. There was a long line."
Listening to Old Mrs. Lawrence's words, Yanis didn't know what to say. Afraid that Old Mrs. Lawrence would inquire further, she changed the subject, "Grandma, has Anika called back recently?"
Old Mrs. Lawrence responded, "Yes, she did. She said the child from the Duncan family often visits her. Dr. Wood said Anika's condition is gradually improving, and if it continues like this, there's a good chance of recovery. Once I'm done with my current tasks, I'll take you to visit Anika."
Old Mrs. Lawrence then looked at Yanis and said, "We also heard about Cooke family's girl. You should spend more time with her."
Yanis nodded. "She has been at home during this time, and her mood has been good."
Old Mrs. Lawrence sighed. "It's a pity for that child."
In life, there will always be birth, aging, sickness, death, and unexpected accidents. That's why it's important to cherish the present. After all, no one can predict whether tomorrow or an accident will come first.
When Yanis and Zane returned from the Lawrence's Mansion, it was already past nine o'clock.
"What did Grandma say?" Zane turned his head to look at Yanis after their car left the Lawrence's Mansion. He asked in a soft voice.
Yanis replied, "Not much. We just chatted casually, discussing Anika's situation and Bonnie's matter."
"Nothing else?" Zane asked again after hearing Yanis's response.
"Didn't Grandpa say anything to you?"
Zane held the steering wheel with one hand and reached out to hold Yanis' hand with the other. "Grandpa wants to hold his great-grandchild," he said straightforwardly.
Zane didn't keep it a secret from Yanis and directly responded.
Yanis choked upon hearing this. "What did you say?"
"I said I'm considering it, letting things unfold naturally."
Yanis fell silent for a few seconds and turned to Zane with a serious look. "Zane, do you like children?"
"I love any child you give birth to."
"I'm being serious."
"So am I. As long as you're the mother, I'll love them all. But Yanis, let's let it happen naturally. When fate comes, we'll embrace it, without forcing it."
