Yanis nudged Bonnie and then turned to Zane. "Did you bring anything else with you?" she asked.
Zane looked at Yanis and replied, "Clean clothes."
Yanis stepped forward to take a look inside the bag. Everything that needed to be there was there.
"Is Mr. Lawrence always this considerate now? Looks like Yanis has taught you well. Keep it up," Bonnie said, surprised by how thoughtful Zane had become.
After all, in Bonnie's memory, Zane was a very traditional person.
Bonnie was genuinely happy for Yanis that she could be with someone like him now.
Zane glanced at Bonnie before turning back to Yanis and whispered, "I'll have Sophia make something for us tomorrow morning. We can eat together."
"Okay," Yanis agreed.
As they stood together talking quietly, Bonnie couldn't help but think of Martin still being in the hospital.
Although Yanis hadn't mentioned Martin's injury to her directly, Bonnie knew that she was a soft-hearted person who sometimes appeared unaffected but actually cared deeply inside.
Despite not treating her well compared to Olivia, Martin still had some feelings for Yanis when compared with his wife Olivia.
Perhaps it was true what they say about daughters being their father's lovers from past lives.
So while Martin wasn't exactly an ideal father figure overall he did treat Yanis better than Olivia did.
Thinking about this made Bonnie look over at Yanis and whisper softly: "Yanis."
Yaniss turned towards her friend and asked: "What is it?"
Bonnie whispered back: "Uncle Thompson is also here on this floor; do you want me to go check on him? Have Mr. Lawrence come along too?"
After thinking for a few seconds after hearing what her friend said, Yaniss replied hesitantly: "Let's go later."
Bonnie suggested again:"Why don't you two go see him now? It might be too late if we wait any longer."
In reality, Bonnie worried somewhat because if something happened later on regarding Martin, Yaniss might regret not seeing him earlier when given the chance..
Yaniss nodded slowly after considering everything carefully."I'll come over soon," she said before turning towards Zane."Let's go."
On their way towards Martin's room, Yannis thought about whether or not he felt remorseful now that things had gotten so bad, and whether or not Olivia regretted never trying harder stop things from getting worse between them both..
"What are you thinking about?" Zane asked Yanis, who had been silent the whole way.
Yanis looked at Zane after hearing his question and said, "I'm wondering if they regret what they've done to end up like this."
If Martin and Olivia had lived a good life, the Thompson family would be much better off than they are now. The money they took in front of Zane alone could have lasted them a lifetime. But obviously, they were never content.
Martin was addicted to gambling while Olivia never tried to stop him. And later on, Antonio got involved with those things too. Maybe that's why they had to go through all of this.
But Yanis couldn't understand why after going through so much trouble, Martin and Olivia still couldn't settle down.
When Yanis arrived at Martin's hospital room door, she took a deep breath and even felt hesitant about going in.
"If you don't want to go in there, I'll do it for you," Zane said softly when he saw Yanis standing outside the door without moving for some time.
Yanis shook her head and replied: "Let's go in together."
