Yanis replied, "Let's go outside."
She was speaking to Olivia.
After leaving the hospital room with Zane, Yanis said, "You go ahead. I'll come over in a bit."
Zane nodded and walked away.
Once Zane was gone, Olivia emerged from the hospital room and whispered to Yanis in the hallway, "Come this way."
Yanis nodded and followed Olivia as they walked to one side.
"Yanis, do you hate me now?" asked Olivia softly once they had stopped walking.
Yanis paused for a few seconds after hearing Olivia's question before responding. "To be honest, I did hate you at first. Why is it that Antonio is your child while my treatment is so different? Clearly I am more responsible than Antonio and have been good to you both. Why can't you treat me like how you treat Antonio?"
As she listened to Yanis' words, there was a bitter smile on Olivia's face. "Because you are not my daughter," she said quietly.
Yanis looked at her incredulously upon hearing this statement. "What are you talking about?" she asked.
"You're not my daughter," repeated Olivia firmly this time around.
This time Yanis heard her clearly.
She had previously thought that she wasn't Martin and Olivia's biological child but later found out that she was indeed their daughter after all these years of uncertainty. But now it seemed like things were different?
"We agreed not to tell you about this matter but... I don't want to keep hiding it from you anymore," continued Olivia softly as if explaining herself. "When your father and I got married we made an agreement - whoever did something wrong would have to leave without anything - no money or property whatsoever... I thought he wouldn't do anything wrong because he loved money so much but eventually he did..."
"When I found out what really happened back then... I had just gotten pregnant myself at the time... it felt like my world was falling apart... I considered getting rid of the baby or divorcing him but he knelt down crying begging me saying he wouldn't do anything wrong again; even your grandparents advised me giving him another chance; plus since I was already pregnant by then so under his desperate plea for forgiveness.. I gave him another chance..."
"But in the end.. we still couldn't save our baby..."
"Was it an accident or..." began Yanis hesitantly before trailing off uncertainly...
"It was because of YOU."
Olivia looked at Yanis and said, "It was your biological mother who approached me after giving birth to you. She wanted me to take you back to the Thompson family, but I naturally refused. I am not a generous person and would never raise someone else's child for another woman."
"But then she came to me again and again, and maybe even God felt that I was so unkind, so my baby died, a week before the birth, because the umbilical cord around the neck suffocated. Afterwards, I always felt that it was all your mother's fault. If she hadn't kept bothering me and wanting me to bring you back to the Thompson family, my child wouldn't have been lost like that. At the time, I blamed all the responsibility on your mother and on you."
After inducing the baby, Olivia went into a crazy state, punching and kicking Martin, and even threatened to kill Yanis' mother and strangle Yanis.
There seem to be some things that have already been arranged by heaven in the midst of darkness.
Olivia's father was being chased down for a debt, paint was thrown, dog blood was spilled, and the house was not peaceful.
Yanis' mother stepped forward and repaid the money, with the condition that Olivia returns Yanis to the Thompson family. No other requests were made.
In order to bring peace to her family, Olivia agreed to it.
The slight barrier in her heart has always been there, even though Yanis's mother helped the Moore family. However, Olivia's hatred towards Yanis and even his mother has not diminished at all.
Olivia gave all her love to Antonio alone until she became pregnant with him again.
