I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 838

Chapter 838: Blaming Neve's Death on Yanis

Bonnie shook her head. "No, I feel nauseous whenever I see seafood lately. Let's go somewhere else."

"How about Harborview Restaurant or Banyan Garden?" Yanis suggested.

Bonnie thought for a moment. "Let's go to Banyan Garden. Ivan is treating us today. Shouldn't we make the most of it?"

Yanis smiled. "Then let's go to Banyan Garden."

Bonnie nodded. "We're parting ways this time. Who knows when we'll meet again."

Yanis replied, "We can visit M Country in the future, or Ivan can come back to Manches City."

"That's true. As long as we want to meet, there will always be reasons and ways."

The two of them arrived at Banyan Garden and placed their orders.

"Miss Thompson," a male voice came from behind just as Yanis and Bonnie finished ordering and were about to return to their private room.

Upon hearing the voice, Yanis and Bonnie both stopped in their tracks.

Adam was standing a few steps away from them.

After Neve's incident, Adam seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth. They didn't expect to encounter him here today.

When Bonnie saw Adam, she instinctively stepped in front of Yanis and asked, "Mr. Bennett, is there something you need?"

Adam noticed Bonnie's protective gesture and chuckled lightly. "Miss Cooke, there's no need to be so hostile towards me. I never intended to do anything to Miss Thompson."

Bonnie smiled faintly. "I just think people with the name Bennett tend to be a bit dangerous. It's just my natural reaction."

Adam maintained a smile on his face. "Does Miss Cooke have any misconceptions about me?"

"Whether there are misconceptions or not, Mr. Bennett knows best. If there's nothing else, we'll be on our way. We have an appointment and don't have time to chat with Mr. Bennett," Bonnie said, reaching out to grab Yanis' hand and walk towards the elevator, passing by Adam.

As they walked past Adam, his voice rang out again, "Miss Thompson, do you not feel guilty about Neve's death?"

Upon hearing Adam's words, Bonnie halted a step ahead of Yanis, turned around, and looked at Adam. "Does Mr. Bennett find that amusing? Neve wanted to die herself and tried to drag others down with her. In the end, she caused her own death. Should someone else be blamed for that? What kind of logic is that?"

"Besides, she could have chosen to live at that time. It was her own decision not to. Can we really blame others for that?" Bonnie questioned.

Adam's face turned cold at Bonnie's words.

Just as he was about to respond, Bonnie continued, "Is Mr. Bennett trying to place the blame for Neve's death on Yanis?"

Adam locked eyes with Bonnie and suddenly burst into laughter. "Miss Cooke, why are you so agitated? I was just speaking off the cuff."

"Mr. Bennett, speaking off the cuff and slapping such a huge label on someone, don't you think that's going too far?" Bonnie retorted.

Yanis looked at Adam after Bonnie's remark and spoke, "Mr. Bennett, I don't believe Neve's death has anything to do with me. I don't feel guilty, and one cannot stop someone who wants to die. Besides, why did Neve die? Shouldn't Mr. Bennett be introspective about that?"

"So, Miss Thompson, are you suggesting that Neve's death should be attributed to me?" Adam questioned.

"It's not about attributing Neve's death to you, Mr. Bennett. Should we attribute it to Yanis then?" Yanis responded.

After Adam's words, a deep voice could be heard.

Yanis and Bonnie both looked up upon hearing the voice.
