Daniela, though reluctant, signaled the two burly men to let her go.
Jarvis walked over to Hannah at a leisurely pace. He helped her up, and said, "Hannah, we just started dating, and you're already asking me to do such a big favor. How are you going to thank me?"
Hannah replied, "I can give you everything I got. How's that?"
Jarvis laughed, "I'm not Steven, your body doesn't do it for me."
Hannah questioned, "Then what do you want?"
Jarvis responded, "I haven't quite figured out what I want from you. Maybe you can owe me one, and when I know what I want, I'll let you know."
Hannah responded, "Sure, no problem."
Daniela interjected, "Jarvis, did you forget I'm still here?"
Jarvis answered, "With your big presence, Daniela, how could I forget about you?"
Daniela asked, "When did you two get together?"
Listening to their conversation, it seemed they had known each other for quite some time. Indeed, the rich folks' circle was a small world. She had thought the rich in Harbor City had no connection with those in the Capital. Turns out, she was mistaken. Daniela and Jarvis must have been old pals.
Jarvis answered, "Just now."
Daniela claimed, "She's using you."
Jarvis replied, "I know."
Daniela questioned, "Have all you men been bewitched by this woman?"
Jarvis retorted, "The problem is with your Steven. Don't drag me into this. Now Hannah is my girlfriend, and I expect you to respect her. If you keep speaking ill of her, our families might not be friends anymore."
Daniela's gaze fell on Hannah again, sizing her up as if she were a stranger. "Jarvis, does your family know about you two?" She asked.
Jarvis frowned, clearly annoyed, "She and Steven chose to be together. If you want to call her cheap, isn't Steven, who held all the cards, even cheaper?"
Daniela argued, "Steven was just messing around with her."
Jarvis pulled Hannah close into his arms, "And wasn't Hannah just messing around with your Steven?"
Daniela started, "Jarvis!"
Jarvis continued, "Marriage was their decision, and fooling around was also their choice. If anyone's to be called cheap, it's both of them. Why should my Hannah get insulted just because she's a woman, while Steven gets off scot-free because he's a man? Even more, he seems proud of his many conquests. Why is that?"
Hannah kept quiet. She knew she was walking into a trap before she came here. Daniela was definitely not going to make this easy for her.
