After Lou dropped his truth bomb I had to sit down and take it all in for a few moments.
Bloody hell.
We're actually screwed.
"Do they even know where the Virus came from?" I hesitantly asked, staring deep into his light brown eyes.
"Apparently some laboratory, they were experimenting on how to make animals and people come back from the dead. Something went wrong, and one of the animals managed to run out of the lab, carrying the virus. You already now what happened after that" He shook his head, biting his lip.
"And they don't have a cure for it?" I felt completely helpless.
This was were my home would be from now on.
"People are working on it, but nothing seem to be working and now during the circumstances, it's even harder"
"Well f*ck me" I muttered and at the same time, Lucky opened the door.
"Uhm..." He scrunched his brow and I chuckled awkwardly.
I looked over at Lou for some help, but he just smirked.
"I'd love to" He winked, before standing up and walking up the stairs.
"What was that...?" Lucky asked confusedly.
"I have no idea, I said 'f*ck me' as in 'oh f*ck' if you're wondering" I rambled on, I didn't know why I defended myself but oh well.
"I get it, calm down" He laughed and I saw Colton's head peek up over Lucky's shoulder.
"So here's the wheelchairs... And here's a pair of crutches" Colton said, he pulled the wheelchair inside and Lucky handed me the crutches.
"Why two pair of wheelchairs?" I asked confusedly, I only needed one. I would probably be fine with just the crutches if I was honest.
"One wheelchair inside and one outside. The one outside's wheels are much rougher. The one inside is, so you won't make a mess inside. And the crutches the doctors said you could try if you'd like" Colton explained hastily, not breathing a single time. When he fished he took a deep breath and gave me a wide grin.
"How am I supposed to make it to the second floor?" I then wondered, I didn't want to complain, but it was a big issue.
"Oh that's why you're living with us and not Tyson and Loren. This house is made for people with wheelchairs too. You see that door?" Colton said, pointing to a dark red door and I nodded.
"That's an elevator" He surprised me and I gaped.
"That's awesome, thanks for getting me all of this" I hugged them both and Lucky helped me sit down in the wheelchair.
"These aren't electric, so you'll have to work pretty hard to push them or have someone push you" Lucky reminded me and I nodded.
"That's fine, I guess that's some extra workout" I shrugged and I soon stared to push myself over the floor. I was happy to be independent again.
"Do I just open this door, or?" I looked up at the door, waiting for an answer.
"You gotta push that button" Colton took a step forward and pushed it, making it light up.
A few seconds later, the door opened itself and Lucky pushed me inside.
"I'll meet you upstairs" He smiled, giving me an ensuring thumbs up before walking away.
I looked around the elevator and saw a mirror for the first time in three days.
Holy crap, I looked like a monster.
My hair was dirty and completely tangled. My face was covered in dirt and I looked like I hadn't slept for ages.
I groaned and pushed the button to the second floor.
The door slowly opened itself and revealed an smiling Lucky, standing behind it.
"You did it" He mocked and I flipped him off.
"Can I shower with this plaster?" I asked Lucky and he nodded.
"But you'll have to cover it with a plastic bag or something. Oh, and we should take you to the doctors tomorrow and let them look at your wound... They'll probably do a better job than I did" He walked down the stairs again, probably to get me a plastic bag, and was soon back again with a... Plastic bag.
"You can put this around it so you won't get any water in it" He said, handing me a rubber band. I handed him and pushed my self into the bathroom.
Don't ask me how I did it, but after half an hour. I'd finally managed to wash my hair and body, without ruining the plaster.
When I got out of the shower, I grabbed a towel and put it on the wheelchair before jumping on one leg and sitting down.
I dried my hair in front of the mirror and frowned when I didn't see any brushes.
And groaned when I realized my period had started and that I had no pads or tampons.
"Oh f*ck" I yelled and soon realized my mistake.
"You alright in there?" I heard Lucas ask, I could only imagine his mean smirk.
"No. First of all; I don't have any clean clothes and second of all; My bloody period just started and I have no tampons!" I whined, but then I laughed when I realized I just made a period joke, without realizing it... Period.
"I guess you can borrow a t-shirt and some shorts from me... I don't have any, uhm, tampons though" He uncomfortably told me and I laughed.
"Oh really?" I sarcastically remarked, pulling my fingers through my still rather wet hair.
"No... Should I ask Colton to go to the storehouse...?"
"Yes, please" I said sweetly.
"I'll go get some clothes, eh, try to avoid getting blood on them?"
I just laughed and waited for him to come back.
I soon heard someone clearing their throat awkwardly and I raised my eyebrows.
"Yes...?" Why was I enjoying this so much?
"Here's the clothes, Colton will be back-" He stopped and I furrowed my brow.
