Wayne stared at Baron and said earnestly, “Please tell the people that you are with the Porter family in Kato.”
“Ha, ha!”
Baron laughed loudly and scoffed at him, “Go ask William whether I have to say this in public. Is Brone Group your industry?”
Hearing that Baron called his grandpa’s name, a tinge of chillness passed over Wayne’s eyes, but he pretended to be shocked and said hurriedly, “The Brone Group is the Owen family’s industry, so how dare we covet it?”
“The Owen family’s industry?”
Baron smiled impatiently, “You dare not covet their industry, so why dare you to covet mine?”
Then Baron squinted. Wayne failed to read Baron’s mind and said, “Mr. Baron, don’t get me wrong. I only want to cooperate with you and reap the win-win outcome. After all, you are already expelled by the Owen family.”
Baron came to realize why the family dared to talk with him in this impolite way now that his real identity was known. It turned out they thought Baron was the same person a decade year ago, when he and his mom were expelled from the Owen family.
“Wayne, go tell William that your family is far unqualified to cooperate with me. I am the master and you are only the slave.”
Baron’s eyes demonstrated his resolute, “If your family longs for improvement, just follow my words, but if you aim to hurt me, just forget it. Don’t play with fire and get yourself burnt in the end.”
Baron’s words were forceful and he completely dismissed the family.
It annoyed Wayne and he turned raged. But he could only suppress his anger considering what Baron had done in the hall.
“No worries, Mr. Baron. I will tell my grandpa what you have said.” Wayne said in a low voice.
Baron gave a light look at him, pulled the door of the car open, and got off.
Baron entered the Perry Manor and then Wayne took out his phone and dialed a telephone number, “Grandpa, he didn’t reject, but he didn’t show any respect to us. He also warns us that we’d better not take risks.”
“Damn!”
William felt raged, “So arrogant! If he goes back to the Owen family, maybe I will follow his words. But the illegitimate son expelled from the Owen family dares to dominate my family.”
“Then what should we do next?” Wayne asked.
“Keep silent and modest as if nothing had happened. 49% of the shares of River Construction Materials were given to him for free. Hence, we cannot give up easily.”
William said in a low voice, “Anyway, he owns the Brone Group, so we need him to expand our family as long as he doesn’t break up with the Owen family.”
“Now that the bloke doesn’t have the idea of building his own clan, then we do it ourselves. You’d better take over Brown family’s industry as soon as possible before the news goes out.”
“Yes, sir!” Wayne answered.
It was already late and Baron tiptoed into his room.
He opened the door and found that the night lamp on the bedside was on. Lara was asleep but Tracy wasn’t. She was reclining against the bed.
“Why don’t you sleep?” Baron asked in a low voice.
Tracy didn’t answer. She looked at Baron carefully and lied down after confirming that he was okay.
Baron was clear why Tracy didn’t answer.
In fact, he couldn’t explain it. Otherwise, she would know Lara was kidnapped, and Tracy must be worried.
Baron gave a bitter smile, brushed her teeth carefully and then went to bed.
