Jojo and Coco's Unexpected Love novel Chapter 794

Joseph heaved a sigh as he said, "I was as shocked as you are when I found out."

Under the assumption that his mother was dead after having disappeared from his life for more than a decade, she suddenly came to him with a new appearance. It was a strange feeling, yet he felt joy that his mother had finally come home.

Thinking back on all her interactions with Frieda, Chloe realized that Frieda had some unique qualities that distinguished her from the average person. She had in-depth knowledge of luxury items, yet was not attracted to them. She wore affordable brands, but still exuded an air of elegance and nobility. While the two aspects were not contradictory, cultivating such a refined demeanor required time and financial investment. She reckoned that Frieda was a formerly wealthy person who had fallen on hard times and was now working out of necessity.

To Chloe, being around Frieda felt quite extraordinary, like standing next to a movie star.

She wondered, "Why did your mother choose to work at Exotic Star instead of Fairlight or the Whitman Group?"

"Being too close to me might’ve drawn Duskfall’s attention," Joseph explained.

Chloe blinked and felt relieved that she had turned down Cyrus’ offer. Joseph’s mother had been imprisoned for countless years and forced to live in seclusion. After enduring countless hardships to escape, it was only natural for her to be extremely cautious and avoid showing even the slightest opening.

Seeing Chloe's expression, Joseph knew what she was thinking. "Has Cyrus not contacted you since then?"

Chloe was stunned for a moment, then quickly feigned composure. "Who's Cyrus, and why would he contact me?"

“Drop it," Joseph said as he reached out to pinch her nose. "You were planning to tell Cyrus about my mother when you asked to meet her that day, am I right? Why did your conscience suddenly kick in?"

"You knew all along?"

"Of course."
