Chapter 17
On the day of the departure.
An army of BloodMoon Pack soldiers was gathered by the borderline at dawn.
Daran and Harper would ride with the BloodMoon troops going back to Riverside. Other pack’s Alpha, such as Jared, would go back to their own pack and assemble the army before joining them in Riverside.
Harper gazed viciously at Janet, who was walking between lines to check on her soldiers.
Janet’s long braid swung behind her back as she walked. Her figure seemed petite compared
to all those sturdy werewolf soldiers. But all those Alpha–male bowed to her respectively when she came close.
Harper clenched her fists in fury.
She couldn’t believe Janet was winning all those guys‘ attention! What a bunch of losers!
Then an evil grin appeared on Harper’s face again.
They were now heading back to Riverside. That’s her territory, full of her supporters.
She would make sure that bitchy Janet suffer later.
Janet finished with the check–ups and walked to the side.
Jared was there waiting for her.
“So I guess I’ll see you in Riverside Pack later,” Jared smiled.
“Yes I believe so,” Janet said.
Jared’s light blue eyes looked beyond Janet’s shoulder and to Daran, who was staring closely at them in the distance.
“Hopefully when I come back to you, you are still single.” Jared winked playfully at her, “Since you’ve got quite some admirers right now.”
“You are joking.” Janet laughed, “I’m going to Riverside Pack for training, not dating.”
“I’m counting on that.”
Jared suddenly leant forward and pulled Janet into his arms for a hug. Janet was startled for a moment. But his gesture was polite so she didn’t push him away.
“See you later, my Gamma princess.” Jared whispered, while locking eyes with Daran.
Seeing Daran’s face darken, Jared smiled even more brightly and landed a kiss on Janet’s cheek.
“I’ll miss you.”
After saying goodbye with Jared, Janet turned and walked towards Daran and Harper,
“Alpha Daran,” she said with an all–professional voice. “Would you like to drive your own car? Or would you like to ride with our troops?”
Daran’s body had become strained when he saw Jared kissing Janet and she accepted it.
Now hearing Janet talking to him so aloofly, Daran seemed more irritated.
“I want you to ride in my car,” he said sternly, his sharp gaze on her.
Janet raised an eyebrow, “Why is that?”
“I need to talk to you about the training.” Daran looked down at her with a poker face, “We have 4-5 hours to my pack. It’s the perfect timing.”
“Alpha!” Harper whispered besides Daran, “Please don’t…I don’t want to be the same car with her.‘
But Daran totally ignored her. He was still waiting for Janet’s answer.
“Please don’t exploit my Gamma like that,” Casper said loudly while walking towards them with Balvina.
He wrapped his arms around Janet’s shoulder and grinned at Daran, “We have plenty of time after we arrived at Riverside. For now, I just want to her to rest. So of course she rides in my car.”
Daran narrowed his eyes, “I think Janet can make her own decision. And can you not put your hands on her shoulder without asking her?”
Casper revealed a bright smile at him, “Oh I think Janet doesn’t mind.”
These two large men glared at each other. Tension was building up.
“OK that’s enough.” Janet sighed, “Alpha Daran, I can ride in your car if you like. There’s no need to fight about that.”
Daran’s face finally softened.
“Fine. I respect your decision darling.” Casper shrugged and then planted a kiss on Janet’s forehead, “I’ll always be waiting for you in my car.”
He laughed and walked away.
Balvina followed behind his back. She deliberately yelled at Harper before leaving, “Oh and Miss Harper, we have an ambulance prepared for you in case you get car sick or anything during the trip. Please don’t sue as for being cruel again!”
Balvina’s voice was loud enough for everyone on the plaza to hear.
People all turned to gaze at Harper smiling sarcastically.
