Chapter 17
“I told you to leave. Why are you still here?” Summer crossed her arms on her chest as she walked over to the living room and stood in front of Hunter who was already on his feet.
“I’m not someone who would leave because you asked me to. Let’s go on a date, Summer,” Hunter looked into her eyes as those words came out of his mouth, hoping she’d listen to him and give him a chance this time as he was already dying inside for her.
“No,” Summer’s reply was short and blunt, and she didn’t waste another second before she walked out of the house elegantly. However, she stopped on her track and clenched her fingers tightly and brielly when she saw Xander leaning against his car which was parked outside her gate.
“How did he locate my house?” She mumbled just before she proceeded toward the gate.
“How did you know my house, and why are you here?” She crossed her arms on her chest as she stood in front of Xander minutes later with her eyebrows
raised.
your mom’s life once again, isn’t it?” The
“Let me guess the answer to the questions. You’ve been stalking me, and you are here to pathetically beg for yo corner of her lips twitched into a smirk as she looked into his eyes.
“My answer remains the same, Xander. I won’t do it. I don’t care whether or not your Mom lives, so stop fucking bothering me and showing up in front of me every damn.
“Those kids… Who is their father?” Xander finally spoke out of the blue moon, and her lips parted as she swallowed her next words which were yet to
come out.
“Did you really cheat on me then?” Xander’s voice shook slightly as he looked into her eyes and asked. For years, he had been so sure about her cheating on him, he had been holding on to that, but his mind suddenly started to think something else even though the test result was yet to be released to him. What if it was all a misunderstanding? What if she never cheated on him like she claimed years ago? What if it turned out that he really accused her of nothing? Will she be able to forgive him then?
“What do you want to know again, Xander? We did it on your…” their bodies were just inches apart.
“He covered the distance between them, held her hand, and pulled her close in a way that
“I’m not here to be pissed by you, so tell me the truth. Did you really cheat on me? Who is the father of those kids?” Xander had no idea why he was asking her that, something just seemed not right to him the moment he set his eyes on those boys. It felt like he finally found something he had been looking for over the years even without knowing it. Something just didn’t feel right.
She yanked his hand off and stepped away from her.
“I told you to stop touching me, Xander. I’m no longer your wife,” Those words pierced through his heart like a dagger. Getting reminded every damn time that they were no longer together was driving him nuts and it was so hard to bear,
“You never cease to amaze me. You are always coming up as she slowly rubbed her wrist with her other hand.
with new stories every time just to see me. Is that how much you miss me?‘ Summer smirked
“First, it was your Mom, then you want us to get back together, and now you are here for my children? What excuse will you have next time? Do you miss me so much?”
“Yes… I miss you so much that I don’t think I’m going to lose my mind…”
“Then go ahead and lose it. I bet it’ll make me feel so good to see you dining at the psychiatric hospital with your fellow crazy colleagues.” She raised one of her eyebrows and grinned from ear to car

“That’s enough, Kander, Stop coming to my house. I have no business with your Mom, I’m never getting back with you, and you have no fucking business with my kids or who their father is… So, stop this while I’m being nice,” Her voice sounded so confident as she looked him straight in the eyes and
uttered.
She turned to leave but paused when she saw Hunter standing just behind the gate.
“Hunter… You are there?” She smiled weakly at Hunter, doing everything she could just to hold herself together. Breaking down in front of Xander was the last thing she would ever allow herself to do.
“Are you ok? You look sad,” Hunter asked after she stepped outside the gate and stood in front of her.
She glanced back at Xander
er whose eyes were on Hunter the whole time.
“I don’t feel good because of someone’s presence…” She paused, then turned to Xander and smirked.
