some rest,” Xander tucked his Mom on the bed and pulled the duvet to cover her up. Having her around him “How are you feeling. Mom? You should get so brought nothing to him but pain, still, he could not bring himself to abandon her. It was hard to look at her face knowing her tears were going to break his
heart.
“Xander–”
“Are you hungry, Mom? Do you want me to get you something to eat?” His breath shook slightly as he spoke. It was hard trying to hold back his anger, but what was more difficult was trying not to break down in front of her when it was all her fault.
“Son.” She held his hand when he tried to adjust the duvet to cover her body, and he paused.
“Please look at me,” Tears streamed down her cheeks as she looked at him.
“Please just look at me,” her voice came out in a whisper, and slowly, he finally looked at her. Even though he tried to cover up his pain with a smile, his eyes were what could never deceive his Mom.
“Xander…” She whispered again, slowly shaking her head.
“Do you need anything, Mom?” He forced a smile as he sat beside her on the bed and looked at her,
“Aren’t you going to say anything?” She knew she was not in the place to ask him that after everything she had done, but his silence was killing her. She had already ruined his life years ago, seeing her only son being miserable over the years made her feel nothing but pain even though she could never communicate with anyone about it. Watching him in so much pain all over again was something she could not stand.
“What should I say, Mom? Are you expecting anything from me?” He looked into her eyes and smiled again, but this time, he failed to hide his pain or the tears that glistened in his eyes.
“Son
“Why did you do it, Mom? Why did you ruin my life? Did you ask for my permission? How could you have done that even if you never liked her?… Yes, I really want to ask those questions, but where do I start?” A drop of tears slid down his cheek as he turned his face away and quickly wiped it off.
“Son…” Her lips trembled as she held his hand and squeezed it gently.
“I did it for you…I was worried about you. Her voice trailed off when he looked at her with an ‘are you for real’ look.
“I was fine, Mom… I was fine with Summer… I was living a happy life with her. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. She meant the whole world to me. She was my everything…” He paused and took a deep breath.
“Mom. You know how much I hate cheating, right? You know how disgusting that s h i t is to me…. You know I would freak out if a woman I love ever did that to me… Why did you use it against me? Why did you use my weakness against me?” He finally let everything out as he couldn’t take in the pain anymore and pretend everything was fine.
“Using their children’s weaknesses against them… Is that what every parent out there does? Is it a trend now?” He scoffed and bit his bottom lip.
“Please don’t hate me… I didn’t mean to hurt you,” She slowly shook her head.
“I wouldn’t have done that if I knew things was going to turn out this way…..
“Of course, you wouldn’t have done that if you knew that I was ever going to find out at some point… You made a fool of me for six years, Mom… Sick f**g years-

“I’m sorry, son… I’m sorry.
“You know you had all six years to tell me that, right?” He huffed and threw his head back briefly.
75%0
“You had six years to tell me the truth about the whole thing. You had six years to tell me that you were behind everything!” He finally yanked her hand. off and rose from the bed.
“Xander, please… You have to listen to me
“Mom, you never listened to Summer… She went on her knees and pleaded with you… She slept in the cold that night…. She gave birth to our kids, all by herself. Tell me… Didn’t you feel remorseful for a second that night?” He sat back on the bed and looked at her like he was desperate for answers. What was he going to do with them, anyway? Not that it could ever change anything.
“What did you tell me that night? She doesn’t deserve you… You should’ve listened to me and never get married to her. I told you she was after your money… Mom, you looked into my eyes and said those words to me… You… you…” He paused and sank his fingers into his hair as tears poured down his cheeks.
“It’s not entirely your fault, you know? I mean, I was a jerk also. If I had trusted her and listened to her, things would never have turned out that way. We would never have separated!” He laughed dryly and exhaled deeply.
“On second thought, you were just smart enough to use my weakness against me. You knew how much I hated being cheated on, and you thought, my foolish son is going to go all out if I use this, so why not?” He shrugged and chuckled dryly again.
“Xander, please… Please listen to me. Don’t resent me, please. You know I love you. I would never do anything to hurt you, son. I promise, I didn’t mean to hurt you.
“Resent? I really wish I can, Mom. I wish I can resent you. I wish I can cut you off my life forever, but how can I do that to you? It’s so hard, Mom… It’s so hard for me. It’s driving me crazy that I still can’t bring myself to resent you alter everything you did to me. Isn’t it crazy?” He huffed and bit his lip.
“Son…” She whimpered as waves of regret hit her. At that moment, she could only wish she could turn back the hands of time. If only she could, she would work on herself and learn to accept everything her children loves, if she could, she would never make the same mistake again. She has lived the recent years of her life in regret, but was anyone going to listen to her or even belieye she never had any bad intention and was regretting it now?
“I’m sorry, Mom… But I won’t be coming to the hospital to see you often. I need to clear my head,” He wiped his tears with the back of his palm and proceeded to the door without sparing her a glance. He paused as he held the doorknob, and exhaled deeply.
“You should not expect to see Liss either. You know how she can be. I will arrange for someone to come take care of you for now until everything cools down,” And with that, he pulled the door open and stepped out of the ward…
