Chapter 82
Chapter 82
Summer Frost POV
‘I’m here’ My heart felt heavy as I read the text Hunter had just sent to me. I could barely sleep last night as I was being haunted by the thought of getting engaged with Hunter tomorrow, but sadly, it was already decided and there was nothing I could do even though I didn’t want this.
‘ll join you shortly’ After I replied to his text, I tossed my phone inside my purse then glanced at myself in the mirror for the last time before leaving the
room.
My kids were already waiting for me in the living room by the time I arrived. They had to
sk i p school today because of this since they’ll be there
tomorrow.
“You look beautiful, Mommy,” They didn’t fail to compliment me as they smiled at me, and I returned the smile though I wasn’t in the mood for it.
“You two look good. Come on, let’s go,” I held their hands and led them out of the house, but they paused when they spotted Hunter at the parking lot, leaning against his car.
“Is there a problem, sweetheart?” I bent over and asked them, concerned.
“Why is uncle Hunter here? Is he going with us?” Jack looked at me, displeased.
“Is he coming with us, Mommy?” Jake looked at me curiously, and I sighed.
“Yes. He is. Is there a problem?” They both frowned. I haven’t told them about the situation because I didn’t know how to, coupled with they were still kids and might not understand what everything was all about.
I was yet to convince them when Hunter walked up to us with a smile on his face.
“Hey, boys,”
Unlike before that they would look super excited to see him, they just looked away like they were mad at him or something, and this left me wondering what was going on.
“What’s wrong, kids?” He squatted in front of them and tried to touch them, but they stepped away from him.
“Don’t touch us. You are a bad person,” Jack retorted, taking me by surprise. Hunter looked up at me with a ‘what is going on’ look, which of course I had no idea the current situation. Why’d they call him a bad person?/
“Why did you allow him here?” Jake look at me and pouted his lips.
“Kids… I think you are making a mistake here—”
“We are not. Your Mommy and sister bullied Mommy and you didn’t say anything. You didn’t tell them to stop,” It was when Jack spoke up that I knew where this was all coming from. Kids are innocent and always honest.
Hunter looked at me briefly then sighed and stood up.
“Let’s go,” He walked back to his car and hopped inside.
Kids… You can’t say that to an adult, ok? Hunter didn’t do anything wrong, ok?” I squatted down to their level and patted their hair
“Come on, let’s go,” I held their hands and led them to the car, and after we hopped in the backseat, the ride to the designer company began.
It took us about forty-five minutes before we finally arrived, and as soon as we alighted from the car, Jack looked at me with a smile on his face.
“Mommy, are we here to shop?”
“Are you buying new clothes for us?” Jake added with excitement written all over them.
“We are here for something else. I’ll buy you clothes some other time. Let’s go,” I held their hands and led them toward the entrance door while Hunter took the deal.
A young lady in her late thirties welcomed us with a smile on her face as soon as we walked inside.
“This way, Sir,” The way she was polite to Hunter made me question myself if they were acquainted, but I tried not to be so curious.
We walked past a section where only wedding dress were hanging, and when we arrived at another section, we stopped.
“Is there anyone you like here?” Hunter didn’t look too happy as he looked at me, trying to put on a smile. I guess he was affected by what the kids said to him earlier. I would feel the same way if I was in his shoes, anyway.
“Just pick anything,” I casually replied to him. He was the only happy about this whole thing, so it’s only fair that he chose my dress, right?
He ran his fingers through the dresses and finally picked out a pink ball gown. He had quite the taste.
“I think this will fit perfectly,” He turned to me for approval, but I just shrugged. What was I supposed to say?
*You have quite a beautiful taste, Sir. I think this is perfect,” The lady gushed over the dress as she cupped her cheeks in her palms, and I rolled my eyes.
“Thank you…” He paused, then turned to me and smiled. “Why don’t you go try it on?”
“Yes, Ms. You should. This way, please,” She took the dress from Hunter and led the way while I trailed behind her.
I changed into the dress once we arrived at the fitting room, and I hated to admit that it was really beautiful as I checked myself out briefly in the mirror. The dress was elegant, and the colour was everything beautiful.
“We should step outside,” The lady’s voice drew my attention, and I turned to her.
“Why?”
“Your husband needs to see it to judge how it looks on you,” She smiled at me warmly, and I scoffed.
“He is not my husband,” I snapped at her and left the room before she could say anything else.
Hunter’s face lit up with admiration as soon as I stepped inside the large room where he was waiting for me along with the kids.
“Whoa! You look so good, Mommy,” Jack clapped his little hands as he stood up.
“You look good in anything you wear, mommy, and this is really beautiful,” Jake didn’t fail to give me the compliment that had me blushing. Their opinions were what I didn’t know I needed.
“This is gorgeous,” it irked me when Hunter complimented me, but I just managed to force a smile.
“I will go pick shoes and a matching purse for the dress,” He stood up and left for the shoes and bags section. It took him less than five minutes before he returned with a pair of beautiful pink heels and a pink purse to compliment the dress.

“What do you think about these?” He showed to me, but I just shrugged without saying anything.

After we were done buying my clothes, he went ahead to buy a set of new suits and a pair of shoes for himself, after which we shopped for the kids before
leaving the company.
“Mommy, are we going somewhere? Why did we all buy clothes?” Jack asked curiously once we stepped out of the company, and before I could say anything, Hunter spoke up.
“Mommy didn’t tell you yet?” He squatted in front of the kids with a big smile on his face.
“Mommy and I will be getting married, and hence, we’ll start living together as a big family,”
