Chapter 91
Chapter 91
Lisa Hughes POV
O
A smile formed on my face as I looked at my beautiful reflection in the mirror. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, but what was more exciting was hanging out with Nick again today. Unlike the other time, I was hoping this date turned out well.
My phone buzzed and I anxiously reached out to it, thinking it was him, but a smile rather formed on my lips when I saw that it was Summer.
‘Are you coming over to the house today? It’s boring in here‘ I read through her text.
‘I forgot to tell you. I have a date with my boyfriend. If I can’t make it there today, I’ll definitely show up tomorrow or the day after. See you‘ replied to her text and dropped my phone back on the bedside table.
Once I was done applying the last layer of make–up on my face, I picked up my handbag from the bed where I left it earlier, and exited my
room.
My phone started to ring as I walked down the walkway, and the sight of who the caller was, brought a smile to my face. It was Nick.
“Hey, babe,” I held the phone to my ear excitedly as I descended the staircase./
“I’m here. Where are you?”
I hastened my footsteps to the exit door the moment I heard his voice. My phone was still held to my ear as I made my way out of the house, and there he was, standing beside his car which was parked at the parking lot.
“I’ve missed you so much,” I ran into his
arms and hugged him tightly.
“Me too…” He paused, then pulled away from me with a forced smile on his face.
“Let’s go,” Furthermore, he pulled the front door open and looked at me.
“Hmm,” I had this feeling of being rejected, but I tried not to think much about it as I hopped in the car. He closed the door and went to hop in the driver’s seat.
“Did you sleep well?” He glanced at me as he started the car, and I nodded.
“Why did you do that? You didn’t call me all day two days ago, and when you did, you only asked about Xander. Is that fair?” I pouted my lips and crossed my arms on my chest.
“I’m sorry about that. I was too worked up about work, and I needed to discuss something with him at that time–

“Still, you shouldn’t do that to your girlfriend, don’t you think?” I cut him off as he finally drove out of the house and down the road.
“I’m sorry,” He apologised again, inviting a smile to my face.
“I will only forgive you, but just this time,”
“Hmm,”
Silence crept into the atmosphere afterwards, and since he didn’t look like he was going to start up a conversation, I decided to go first.
“Can I ask you a question?” I began.

“Hmm… What question?” He glanced at me and took his attention back to the road as he focused on driving.
I didn’t know if it was the right time to ask
if this was the right question to ask, but I was curious to know the answer.

“Do you feel anything for me?” Our relationship was still too early for me to ask him such question, but I could not help myself.
He matched on the brake and brought the car to,
abrupt halt as it made a loud screeching sound.
“Why did you stop the car?” I looked at him and batted my eyelashes confusingly, but he just stared into space with an unreadable expression on his face.
“I just asked a question, so you didn’t have to stop the car. It’s fine if you don’t feel like—”
“Can we not talk about this, please?” He looked at me dead in the eyes with an expression I could not read a
meaning to.
“I’m not ready to answer that question, and I think it’s too early for you to ask me such question. We just started dating barely one week,” He reminded me, and although it hurt my heart, I just forced a smile and nodded like everything was fine.
