Let's Start All Over Again, Shall We (Maggie and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 136

Chapter 136 She is Nothing Compared to You

Maggie was aware of Joseph’s reaction. She got up, smiled, and went straight to the washroom.

Vanessa looked at Joseph and said, “Joseph, don’t you worry. I’ll go and talk to her.”

Joseph was keeping his eyes shut and feeling irritated. If it wasn’t for Vanessa, who insisted on choosing the jewellery in displays, things might have been different.

“It’s alright. You stay here. I’ll go and talk to her.”

Joseph stopped Vanessa, who was getting up. He then went after Maggic.

Vanessa stood still with teary eyes. She couldn’t help but trail him.

Maggie spotted Joseph as soon as she got out of the washroom.

“Maggie!”

“What’s wrong?” Maggie was obviously uninterested.

“I know I did you wrong, but my parents didn’t do anything wrong. You know how much we worked for Honor Wide. If it’s possible, can you talk to Annie and get her to work with us?”

Maggie remained silent in response to his words. She kept her silence.

She had her principles.

She was holding her grudge against Joseph, but she must be thinking of the good the Camerons had done

for her.

Joseph continued, “You are aware of our situation now. All these designers are selected by the tactical team, and all of them are important to us. I know you don’t want to disappoint them too, right?”

Maggie looked at him. She must admit that he was correct about one thing.

The Camerons invested a lot in this project. The outlets, materials, manpower, and factories cost up to twenty billion dollars.

Apart from the diamonds and rubies from Shawn Lewis, the Camerons were also getting their hands on various pearls, gold, and jades. It was certainly a massive project for them.

Maggie’s expression turned icy, and she said, “I’ll try my best. But you must have seen her attitude from the meeting earlier. We share the same eye for jewellery, but since I don’t have any say in Honor Wide, don’t get your hopes high.”

Maggie was ready to leave, as she said so.

Joseph suddenly reached out to her and stopped her from leaving. He said softly, “I’m sorry, Maggie. I shouldn’t have listened to Vanessa. She is nothing compared to you.”

Feeling ridiculed, she looked at him.

Joseph was good–looking, smart, and well–mannered. He was indeed a popular bachelor.

Chapter 136 She is Nothing Compared to You

But he was unethical,

She was about to speak up when she saw a glimpse of a silhouette hiding at the end of the corridor.

She knew it was Vanessa.

She thought it would be fun to play trick. She then squeezed out some tears from her eyes and said to him. “But you went for her in the end. I was nothing compared to her.

With her red and teary eyes, she looked helpless and devastated.

Joseph felt his heart quench.

This was the first time that Maggie showed this side of herself. It had been so long since she appeared this delicate in front of him.

“Maggie, I’m sorry. It was a mistake with Vanessa. It was just a game with her. She is nothing compared to you. I never thought to be with her, and I never intended to let you know

Joseph hastily explained. He could still recall the moment when Maggie found out about him and Vanessa.
