PART 2 – CHAPTER 120
JESS
I walked into my room, slammed the door shut, and face- planted right onto my bed. This was the worst idea ever. I left Sophie at the party, but she promised me she was fine and would be back soon.
I sighed, screaming into my pillow before flipping over. This whole costume was a joke.
I was a joke.
What was I thinking? Luke was… Luke was so far out of my league.
It was laughable. Of course, someone else would be way too eager, way too willing to snatch him up. Apparently, that someone is called Jocelyn.
What was I thinking?
But then again, he told me he loves me – he drove all the way over for me, with all my panic attacks. It didn’t even make sense, did it? I’d seen him, and I was a mess–an epic disaster- while he was calm, controlled.

back, and that includes Aiden…
Aiden, with his messy hair and dimples…
How did my life go from having nobody but my two best friends to having to deal with real–life romance drama? Ridiculous.
Someone knocked on my door. It had me sitting up straight, but the corset of this witch outfit made it hard to do it. “Ugh, I need to get out of this dress. Give me a second!” I yelled at Sophie, who had probably forgotten her keys at the party.
At least she got back safely.
The thing was making it hard to breathe with the corset. Finally getting out of the suit, I took a deep breath, able to expand for the first time. I slumped over to the door, opened it, and just stood there, staring at Aiden–but he wasn’t looking at my face.
He was looking at my body.
“Uh… forgot your phone,” Aiden mumbled, looking a bit flustered.
For a second, I was confused as to why, then I realized-I had just taken off my costume, and I was standing in front of him in a sheer slip dress, no underwear. I pulled at the door, unsure of what to do. Then I saw the phone. My phone.
I locked up at him, snatched it from his hand, and muttered, “Thanks. Forgot it because of you anyway.”
I stepped back, ready to slam the door in his face, but his hand stopped me. His massive hand. He stepped into the doorway, his voice dropping lower.
