“Am I throwing a tantrum?” 

Today’s incident could easily be clarified with the surveillance footage, yet he only listened to 

Winni’s side. 

The unfounded accusations left Jean feeling suffocated. 

The wound on her knee, once treated, began to seep blood, staining her dress, but Berton didn’t 

notice. 

He was too busy catching a passing nurse, urging the hospital to prepare a room for Winni, fearing she might feel wronged. 

The tension in Jean’s mind finally snapped, and all her grievances evaporated in that moment. 

She wanted nothing more than to end this farce quickly. 

Following Nydia’s advice, she found a tutor for herself. 

Though Nydia’s suggestion seemed absurd, it proved to be the quickest solution. 

Jean really found a male college student majoring in language who needed a part–time job. 

He had solid expertise and study abroad experience, but his family had fallen on hard times, and he urgently needed money. 

With Jean’s diligence, her spoken language skills improved rapidly, and living abroad would be no problem. 

For a month, Jean focused on her studies, ignoring everyone except Nydia. 

That pink diamond brooch was also sold as she had hoped. 

She was satisfied with Duke Austin as the buyer; he paid upfront and without fuss. 

However, Jean sensed Duke had ulterior motives, so she stopped responding to his messages. 

On the other hand, Berton, for the first time, sent her numerous WhatsAPP messages. In the past, Jean had tirelessly sent him long texts, but he never replied.

Now, Berton was apologizing: “Jean, I was wrong that day. Once Winni’s injuries heal, I’ll come find 

you.” 

Come find her? If he wanted to, he could have done so already. With his connections, finding someone in Y City was a piece of cake. 

In the past, upon seeing such messages, Jean would have eagerly rushed to reconcile. 

Now, seeing them didn’t stir any emotions within her. 

Berton knew Jean was upset, but he didn’t want to lower himself to appease her. After all, in his eyes, Jean couldn’t leave the Snow family and wouldn’t leave him. 

Plus, with recent company matters keeping him busy, what difference did it make whether he soothed her sooner or later? 

She wouldn’t run away. 

But had she made too much noise this time? Had he spoiled her too much? She had never dared to defy him so openly. 

Unable to pinpoint what was wrong, he dismissed it all after receiving Winni’s call. 

On the day Jean received her visa, she bought a plane ticket and didn’t return to Berton’s villa. 

There was nothing there that belonged to her. She wasn’t greedy; the money from selling the pink diamond was enough. 

Wearing a simple white shirt and jeans, she returned to the Snow family’s old residence to bid farewell to Mr. Snow, who had once supported her. 

Unfortunately, she ran into Joy Snow. 

“Hey, little deaf girl, you’re quite perceptive. Berton and Winni’s relationship is progressing rapidly. I advise you to dissolve the engagement soon!” 

In the past, Jean would have retorted, unwilling to let her words slide. But now, with her impending departure, she found it unnecessary.
