Jayden and Logan's minds went blank, with only a single thought left—Natalie was still on the cruise!
"Natalie!" Both men didn't even have the time to board the cruise as they dashed toward the sea madly.
The weather turned violent at that moment. The wind howled and rain pelted, leaving Jayden pale and in pain, but he didn't care. He swam with all his might to the wreckage of the exploded cruise.
Jayden's heart broke when he thought about how Natalie—his only surviving family—was still on the cruise. He dared not imagine how much pain she was in.
Having been pampered since young, she was sensitive to pain—even a small scrape would have her crying for a long time. She would probably be a crying mess after this explosion.
Jayden bit down on his pale lips at that thought and dove into the sea.
By the time Logan came back to his senses, he was already jumping into the sea. The freezing water seemed to be overtaking his body with its chills, but he could no longer care about that.
He pushed himself forward through gritted teeth as he swam toward the wreckage. Each wave pulled him further back, and he watched in helpless frustration as the cruise drifted further away.
"Natalie!" Logan screamed amidst the crashing waves as he pushed himself to swim toward Natalie—his fiancée and the woman he loved. With each stroke, his heart pounded faster.
Suddenly, he was reminded of how the two of them had gone for swimming classes together.
Back then, Natalie had still been a pampered daughter of the Carter family, which contributed to her delicate nature. The slightest inconvenience would make her want to walk away.
She'd struggled with swimming for hours, unable to make progress. She'd finally been fed up and gotten up to leave.
Just as Jayden had been about to call her back, Logan had spoken up while laughing, saying that it would be fine as long as he knew how to swim. He'd promised to be her personal lifeguard.
