Chapter 108
These big shots were professors in the law departments of top universities. It could be said everyone in the current legal field had once been their student.
No, it wasn’t just the legal field. It was likely they had also taught people in other law–related professions. Some of their former students were probably elites in their field
Hence, it likely wasn’t an exaggeration to say there wasn’t case they couldn’t solve.
“That’s right. There’s nothing to worry about.” The last bigshot reassured me. His name was Jesse Pearson. “Tell us everything. You can trust us. We believe you’re innocent
I lowered my head as my tears flowed uncontrollably. No one had ever had such faith in me.
I had always been the target of suspicion ever since Julianne entered my life. It didn’t matter what happened between us. No one had ever believed me.
My family and my beloved husband all treated me the same way. They never asked me or gave me the chance to explain myself. They just assumed I was guilty.
Eventually, I became insecure and didn’t even trust myself.
Even if I was bipolar, I knew I wouldn’t behave that way. Still, I couldn’t help but doubt myself after seeing the evidence attached to my medical record. It made me wonder if I actually had done what was shown in the video.
Yet, these complete strangers trusted me so easily.
I couldn’t describe how I felt. All I could do was sob as I told them what had happened in detail.
I told them how I had been severely injured after falling off a cliff. I had retrograde amnesia because of that incident.
Mr. Holland teared up when he heard this. “It’s no wonder you’re so reserved now. In the past, you would get so excited when it snowed in the winter. I can still remember the sounds from you sliding everywhere. Now, you walk slower than a penguin.”
It turns out he had long noticed the change in my behavior. He just didn’t know how to ask me about it. He was worried it would bring up painful memories and make me even sadder. That was the reason he never asked.
He knew something must have happened to me. But he never imagined it would be this severe.
I didn’t respond. I only lowered my head and cried even harder.
Mr. Holland tried to comfort me. “There there, my dear, I’m here. I’ve got your back!”
He knew bringing in one of these big shots would’ve been enough. Yet, he had called all of them. He wanted everyone to know that I wasn’t an easy target.
He also wanted everyone to know that I wasn’t alone in this. In fact, I had plenty of people supporting me, and they were all influential people to boot!
It wasn’t easy for me to turn things around, so Mr. Holland had always been fiercely protective of me. It was to the extent that he would first destroy anyone who would try to harm me.
Once everyone understood my situation, they got to work.

He looked even more haggard than before. It was as though he hadn’t slept for the past few days. He
“There’s so much evidence, Emilia. Isn’t it enough to make you believe you really did do it?” he questioned.
