Chapter 270
“Hi, Madeline!” Yerrick greeted me with a cheeky smile and waved at me.
“I’ve been waiting for you for almost an hour. You’re late today,” Yerrick continued, shaking the watch on
his wrist at me..
I did my best to suppress my anger and walked over. wore flat shoes today instead of high heels due to my sore legs.
“Madeline, are you feeling unwell today?” The brat had sharp eyes and noticed something was off with me.
My confident stride faltered slightly out of guilt. I couldn’t respond to his comment. So, I just sat down before him, trying to appear assertive. “Just spit it out. What do you want?”
He ignored my question and instead asked, “Didn’t sleep well last night?”
It was like he knew something. Each of his questions was getting more direct.
I stiffened up, trying to regain my composure. “Just say it if you have something to say. If not, get out or I’ll call the police and sue you for harassment.”
Yerrick chuckled. “Still holding a grudge, huh?”
“Cut the crap. What exactly do you want?” I said, pulling out my phone.
“I want to pursue you, Madeline.” Yerrick grinned, his smile as bright as a flower.
I didn’t show any signs of anger as I knew it was fake. But his intent to provoke me was real. If I got angry. I would just be giving him what he wanted.
“Aren’t you underage? If you want to pursue me, have your parents come talk to me,” I replied, using a teacher–like tone.
“Madeline, are you free this weekend?” Yerrick suddenly asked. I ignored him, so he leaned forward. “It’s my birthday this weekend. I’ll be an adult then. So, can you come to my party as my girlfriend?”
Looking at his bitchy face, I just had one thought in mind–he was thinking too highly of himself.
I pouted and decided not to waste more time on him, “Yerrick, I don’t care what your intentions are for harassing me, but you better back off now. Don’t mess with me, and don’t push me too far, or I won’t be polite anymore.”
As I said this, I tapped my phone while glancing at his limited–edition shoes and his overall outfit. It was completely different from the first time I saw him when he falsely accused me. It seemed that he was benefiting from Jewel’s new relationship as well.
“I bet your sister doesn’t know you’re here, right? Or your new brother–in–law. Am I right?”
Really? But I remembered Jewel couldn’t even afford a meal before. It seemed that at least one of the siblings was lying. But they shared a common trait–narcissism.
“Of course, I’m a…” Yerrick started to retort, but he was cut off by a knock on the door.
