I secretly breathed a sigh of relief at Brandon’s words. At least he didn’t act impulsively and asked me 

– instead. 

“Yes. Bran…” I paused. I didn’t know his exact position at the company, but with his skills, I thought he was definitely an engineer. 

“Mr. Howell, please help me show our guest out.” With that, I turned to leave. 

Yerrick didn’t hold back despite Brandon’s arrival and continued to tease me. “Madeline, I’ll be waiting for you this weekend. Your gift will be the one I’m most looking forward to.” 

But before he could continue, Brandon had already stepped in and cut him off. “You may leave now.” 

Yerrick ignored him and continued to provoke me. “Madeline, I’ll wait for you and go for lunch together.” 

I stopped and turned around, about to explode on him. But I didn’t need to as Brandon’s cold and stern voice commanded, “Get out.” 

“Who do you think you are? Why should I leave just because you say so?” Yerrick retorted fearlessly and arrogantly. 

“I’m forbidding you to pursue her,” Brandon said, each word clear and forceful. 

I looked at his intimidating face. This was the first time I had seen this side of him, and it made my heart tighten. 

Yerrick was stunned for a few seconds before resuming his cheeky demeanor. “Old man, are you pursuing Madeline too?” 

What? Now it was my turn to be shocked. Yerrick was really digging his own grave. He actually called Brandon an old man. He was clearly insulting and provoking Brandon.
