Aunt Flo was here! 

“Wait up!” I called out to Lisa while jogging after her. “You jinxed it. My period just started. Do you have any sanitary supplies here?” 

She pulled the key to the break room from her pocket and handed it to me. “Help yourself.” 

We took the elevator to her office. Before we even saw anyone, we could hear angry voices. 

“You shameless woman! You married my son and then fooled around with other men, causing my son’s death. 

“You’re pregnant with an illegitimate child and still have the nerve to claim that it’s from the Goodwin family. Do you think we don’t know your real motives? You’re just after my son’s compensation money.” 

Lisa had already rushed off, but I was momentarily stunned. These accusations sounded oddly familiar. 

Even though I urgently needed to find a restroom, I couldn’t help but move closer to the commotion. 

Before I even got close, I heard a familiar voice saying, “This child is definitely from the Goodwin family. We’ll know for sure once it’s born and tested.” 

It was Jewel. No wonder she had sounded so familiar! 

“A paternity test? Do you think we’ll trust that? We know that you’ve hooked up with a wealthy man and can manipulate any result. But we’re sure that this baby can’t be from the Goodwin family. 

“Everyone, come see this shameless woman. She was caught cheating by my son, and then she caused his accident. Who will punish this woman and avenge my son?” 

After she was done speaking, Melany Glass started crying in distress. 

Then, I heard Lisa’s voice trying to calm her. “Madam, this is a hospital. Please don’t cause a scene here. It might affect the other patients.”
