Fedrick exclaimed, “I knew Zane was right about you liking the dishes.”
She glanced at Zane for an answer, but the man made no attempt to explain.

I’m sorry, sir. The Cajun Seafood Boil isn’t available. Can we offer you a replacement of equal value? The waiter gauged Zane’s reaction, afraid of upsetting him.
Fedrick scowled. “What’s going on? I made a reservation. How could it not be available?”
He was known for his impeccable planning and hadn’t encountered any mishaps at the events he planned. The incompetence of the hotel felt like an insult to him.
“We sincerely apologize, sir. Another guest reserved the dish, but the kitchen made a mistake. We would like to offer you two other dishes as compensation. Please forgive us.”
“I don’t care about compensation! Who reserved it? I’ll speak to them!” Fedrick rose.
Layla intervened. “It’s okay. It’s not like we came here for it solely. Besides, I’m not a fan of seafood.”
She only ordered it many times in the past as it was Logan’s favorite dish. She was never a fan of seafood.
“That’s why Zane specially ordered it, knowing you hate their strong taste. D*mn it Fedrick groaned.
She calmly told the waiter, “We’ll have the King Crab Pasta, thanks.”
“Sure. We’ll prepare it right away, the waiter replied.
She rested her chin on her palm and asked Fedrick, “I guarantee the pasta would be good, too.”
His anger subsided at her words.
“I need to use the restroom. You two go on,” she excused herself.
As she exited the room, she ran into a waiter carrying the Cajun Seafood Boil into the private room–on the other side of the corridor.
“The restroom is right ahead, miss, another waiter showed her the direction.
“Thank you.” She walked down the corridor in her high heels and caught a glimpse of the group occupying the last private
It seems like they’re having a banquet.
“That way, miss, the waiter reminded her.
She tilted her head and followed the directions to the restroom.
Logan heard the commotion outside the private room and glanced at the door, only to see a figure in burgundy attire turn the corner.
“Mr. King is offering a toast,” Harper whispered a reminder.
He hummed a response.
“Congratulations, Mr. Robinson!” Bryan King, the so–called Mr. King, exclaimed.

The words snapped Logan out of his trance. He was unaware of any recent good things that happened to his family.
Bryan shot him a knowing look and revealed, “The land Mrs. Robinson acquired at the auction is up for urban landscaping. The goverment will provide the land owners with billions of subsidies, making the land’s future value immeasurable”
Logan furrowed his brow as he wasn’t told about it.
Harper barely hid a frown. “Are you sure about this. Mr. King?”
“Of course! It’s true! Haven’t you heard about it, Mr. Robinson Logan’s reaction confused Bryan.
He anticipated the good news had made the rounds among professionals in the real estate industry.
Logan frowned when he realized he hadn’t been in touch with Layla since morning.
“Mr. King, would you like to join me for a drink?” Harper forced a smile and suggested, noticing Logan was lost in his thoughts
She was pouring Logan a drink when he abruptly rose and left the room without glancing back.
“Mr. Robinson“” The guests were puzzled. Harper’s expression darkened as she watched him gö
Why did they plan to use the land for landscaping all of a sudden?
In the restroom. Layla noticed her phone on the sink was ringing after she finished washing her hands. The caller ID showed Logan, and she answered. “What’s up?”
“Where are you? he demanded.
Despite her confusion about what she had done to upset him, she replied, “I’m out for dinner with friends. We can discuss
whatever it is later.”
Just then, Harper’s voice reached her through the phone. “Let’s go, Logan. The guests are waiting for you.”
Layla hung up the phone without a word. How dare he ask my whereabouts when he was seeing his lover?
After putting away her phone, she exited the restroom.
Harper was closing the private room door when she spotted Layla emerging from the restroom. Shocked, she quickly shut
the door.
“Come here. Harper, Logan called out.
She turned around and realized he hadn’t seen Layla. She excused herself, saying, “Mr. Robinson, I need to get some fresh
“Go ahead.” he permitted
