Chapter 175
The morning air in the camp was tense, filled with a sense of urgency as wolves hurried to and fro. Aurora sat cross-legged in the center of the clearing, Selene kneeling opposite her. Her eyes were closed, her hands glowing faintly as she chanted in a low, resonant voice.
“Weaving these wards will mask her presence,” Selene said between incantations. “But the Lycan King’s power is vast. If he continues to draw strength from the Pact’s corruption, he’ll tear through even this.”
Aurora nodded, her fingers brushing her daughter’s tiny hand. The child cooed softly, unaware of the weight her existence carried.
“What happens if he breaks through?” Aurora’s voice was steady, but her eyes betrayed her fear.
Selene’s gaze hardened. “Then you’ll need to be ready to face him with everything you have. The wards will buy us time, but nothing more.”
Meanwhile, Cassian gathered the warriors in the main training grounds, his commanding voice cutting through the crisp morning air. “We’ve faced him before and held our ground. This time, we fight to end it. You’ve all seen what’s at stake—our pack, our families, our future.”
