Married Ex-Fiancé’s Uncle (Abigail) novel Chapter 138

Chapter 138 The Collins Family
Herbert arrived at the police station with an imposing air, naturally heading towards George.

Thompson's office, but was stopped by a young officer on the way.

"Who are you looking for? You can't just walk in here. Any business, please discuss it in the reception area."

The officer didn't recognize Herbert and tried to guide him to the reception area.

Herbert's face darkened. Despite his displeasure, he maintained a polite demeanor, saying, "I need to see the chief. We're well acquainted. I used to go straight in."

Upon hearing this, the officer sized him up, seemingly confirming his identity. He sternly said, "I'm sorry, but Mr. Thompson is not available to see you today. Please wait outside."

With that, he was pushed into the lobby.

Herbert tried to speak several times but was interrupted and then ignored.

Herbert fumed, panting heavily as he sat on a metal chair, waiting to see how the officer would apologize once George came out.

Herbert was ignored at the police station for over two hours.

At first, he could sit leisurely, expecting the officer to come and apologize soon.

But gradually, he started to feel something was off, clamoring to see George.

Just as he thought he'd be rebuffed again, he was led to George's office.

"Mr. Thompson, you're quite the busy bee. It's not easy to get an audience with you these days!"

As soon as he entered, Herbert started to show his displeasure at being kept waiting.

George sat calmly, indifferently glancing up. "What can I do for you?"

Seeing his attitude, Herbert began to feel a bit anxious.

He had to ask patiently and calmly, "I just wanted to see what trouble my good-for-nothing son has gotten into this time."
