Married to the Boss: A Love in Disguise Chapter 173

After a long while, George spoke slowly, “I went against everyone in my family, took on huge pressure and risk, and spent money to help the Wilson family stand back up I solved all of Keeley’s problems, so why does she still hate me so much?”

Adam replied calmly, “How should I know?”

George felt uneasy with Adam’s response. “Can’t you analyze it for me? Why would she rather die

than stay with me?”

Adam replied, “You know best what you did to her.”

George’s tall figure shook slightly at these words. Yes, he knew better than anyone what he did to

Keeley.

He put out his cigarette and lit another. “Keeley and I have known each other for exactly ten years.

We first met when she was fourteen. When she moved into my house at eighteen, I thought she

couldn’t live without me. But when she got into trouble, I realized it was me who couldn’t live

without her.”

Adam listened silently. He had no experience with matters of love and relationships, so he couldn’t

offer any advice.

George didn’t know who else to turn to besides Adam. “Adam, tell me, what should I do to bring her

back to me?”

This question really stumped Adam.

If Adam was asked how to make money, he could give you a thousand and one ways.

But when it came to winning back his wife, he faced a difficult problem.

He lit up a cigarette as well. “Lumma would rather take out a loan to buy a house and pay off the mortgage with most of her monthly salary than accept the house I offered her. I tried my best today, but still couldn’t get her to agree to have a meal with me.”

Did he know that Keeley had escaped?

Was he going to catch her again?

Adam noticed Lumma’s hands slightly trembling by her side and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” Lumma replied, turning to leave, but Adam grabbed her. “Lumma, tell me what

happened.”

Lumma bit her lip tightly and unconsciously glanced at George inside the room. Adam immediately

understood her concern.

He walked out of the room and slammed the door shut, blocking George outside. “Do you want to

tell me about Keeley?” he asked.

Still worried that George might be listening in, Lumma suggested, “Mr. Hills, could you please come upstairs with me?”

“Okay,” Adam agreed and followed Lumma to the 26th floor. Once inside the room, Lumma quickly closed and locked the door.
