The next day, Lumma got up early. When the doctor gave Maria a physical examination, Lumma stayed by her side.
After the examination, she asked the doctor for many details. She was a little relieved to confirm
that Maria’s condition was stable.
Catherine considerately left space for them.
Only two of them were there, Maria finally couldn’t hold back and brought up the topic of Lucas. “Lumma, you said on the phone that you wanted to have a try with Lucas, have you really decided?”
“Yes.” Lumma nodded. “Grandma, don’t worry, I’m not joking. I made this decision after careful
consideration.”
Maria always felt at ease when Lumma was doing things. “Lucas is introverted. And he is not very
good at saying sweet words to make people happy. But it makes people feel that he is a dependable
person.”
Lumma nodded fiercely. “Grandma, I also feel the same way. It’s just that when I think of him, I feel
very at ease.”
Maria rubbed Lumma’s head. “That’s good. Grandma can rest assured that he will accompany you from now on.”
Maria didn’t care much about love. She thought that when two people lived together, they supported each other, and their partner could make them feel safe, which was the best state of
marriage.
After having an early lunch and saying goodbye to Maria and Catherine, Lumma had to drive back to
Red Pine City.
After walking out of the villa, Lumma took out her mobile phone and prepared to take a taxi to the high-speed train station.
Unexpectedly, a Rolls-Royce stopped slowly in front of her.
