Chapter 189 The Wilson Family’s Forsaken Son 

By the time they got back to Hart’s old residence from Bluebell Meadows, it was already late, and there were hardly any cars on the road. 

The road was secluded and wide, which made Nathaniel Hart even more relaxed, holding Sofia Schneider’s hand while driving. 

Sofia didn’t understand the romantic appeal of this. She tried several times to free her hand but couldn’t, so she reluctantly let Nathaniel hold it. 

Suddenly, as they were turning a corner, Sofia saw a small shadow dart across the road in front of the car, then there was a thud against the front. 

Nathaniel noticed it too and immediately hit the brakes. 

They both got out of the car and saw a small, almost lifeless puppy by the roadside, whimpering.

It was a young puppy, maybe three or four months old, with dirty white fur. 

Despite the grime, it was clear it was a Samoyed. 

Sofia had never had a pet before. Seeing the Samoyed in such pain made her feel sad. 

She immediately crouched down, trying to check on the Samoyed. 

The puppy kept whimpering, clearly very distressed. 

Sofia gently soothed it, her voice soft and comforting. “Don’t be scared. We’re taking you to the hospital, okay? We’ll make sure you’re okay” 

The puppy seemed to understand and nuzzled against Sofia’s hand. 

Sofia picked up the Samoyed and said to Nathaniel, “Let’s go to the nearest pet hospital.” 

“The nearest one might be closed by now. I’ll take you somewhere; don’t worry, they can help,” Nathaniel said. 

Sofia nodded, saying, “Then let’s hurry.”

In the car, Sofia did what she could to tend to the puppy’s injuries with the limited supplies they had, trying to stop the bleeding. 

Nathaniel didn’t waste any time and turned the car around, heading in a different direction. 

Luckily, it wasn’t far. Within ten minutes, they were at a large, black gate. 

Nathaniel pulled out his phone and made a call. “Open the gate.” 

Soon, the gate opened, and Nathaniel drove in. 

Sofia felt a sense of familiarity with the place. She had heard about it but had never met its 

OWTICE. 

Unexpectedly, Nathaniel had brought her here. 

She remembered the owner of this place…. 

Just as she was thinking this, a man in overalls came out, his face cold and unwelcoming towards Nathaniel. 

Sofia recognized him immediately. 

It was Eric Wilson, the second child of the Wilson family, disowned by them. 

Rumor had it he was reclusive and antisocial to the extreme. 

Nathaniel got out of the car, and Sofia heard Eric say, “What are you doing here? 

His tone was full of disdain. 

Nathaniel didn’t mind his attitude and walked over to open Sofia’s door. “Come on out Don’t worry, he’s just a bit grumpy but a good person.” 

Sofia saw Eric’s face darken further at Nathaniel’s words. 

But she could tell that Eric’s displeasure wasn’t because of what Nathaniel said, but because Nathaniel had brought her here. 

As she got out of the car, thinking about how to make things easier for Nathaniel in case Eric didn’t want to see strangers, her worry was quickly put to rest.
