Not only Frankie had noticed something wrong about Emmett, but Chris, Bruce, and Sienna were also aware of that. Chris closed his laptop. The stocks Yvette suggested he buy from Solstice Innovations had been dropping for several days. If this kept up, Jeremiah’s 6.7 billion dollars would be lost. 

Chris frowned and said, “Emmett’s really acting out of sorts.” 

Bruce held Sienna tightly in his arms, his expression serious. He said in a deep voice, “In all these years, I’ve never seen Emmett so upset. Something must have happened today.” 

The next moment, Frankie seemed to have come to a sudden realization. Then he turned to the others. 

He exclaimed dramatically, “What if when Emmett and Yvette went out, a girl passed by on their way, and Emmett fell for her instantly, but then they missed each other? 

“Emmett searched desperately through the crowd for his love at first sight, but sadly, she vanished. Emmett was saddened and in despair. Tsk… He looked a lot like someone who’s suffered from love.” 

Frankie almost wanted to applaud himself for such a detailed analysis. However, when he finished, he saw Bruce, Sienna, and Chris looking at him disdainfully on the couch. 

Frankie rubbed his nose and said, “Seriously, my analysis makes sense. Otherwise, what could have possibly affected Emmett so badly that he’d end up like this?” 

The three of them stayed silent. Although Frankie’s explanation seemed far–fetched, they couldn’t figure out why Emmett returned looking so miserable after just one day out. 

Sienna opened a bag of chips and munched happily. She said, “There’s no point in us guessing. Didn’t Emmett go out with Yvette? We’ll know what happened to Emmett when Yvette comes back. 

“Honestly, Frankie, what you said is absurd. Emmett’s not the type of guy to be so upset over a woman.” 

They thought Emmett would never act that way because of a woman. Only someone as unreliable as Frankie could think of a woman–related reason. 

Bruce, Chris, and Sienna found it unlikely. They thought it would be ridiculous for Emmett to be upset over love. 

As soon as Sienna finished talking, Yvette walked in. She had just put on her slippers when she looked up to find everyone in the living room staring at her. 

Yvette walked to the bar counter to pour herself a cup of warm water. She took a slow sip before looking up and glancing at everyone. Without emotion on her exquisite face, she asked lazily, “What’s the matter?” 

Frankie quickly stood up from the couch and rushed to Yvette, grinning from ear to ear. 

Yvette held the glass as she raised an eyebrow. Her eyes slightly narrowed, and her voice was cold as usual as she warned Frankie, “Show me that creepy smile again, and you’ll bear the consequences.” 

Frankie, who thought his smile was dazzling, froze. ‘Creepy smile? Other women always said I look handsome with my bright smile. Why does Yvette think it looks creepy?‘ Frankie wondered. 

The three on the couch looked at poor Frankie, who was afraid to smile. They gloated inwardly as they thought he deserved

Bruce, Chris, and Sienna paused the game and stopped eating chips. Everyone awaited Yvette’s answer.

Yvette looked up and narrowed her eyes. After a few moments of silence, she pursed her lips and answered indifferently, “He fell in love at first sight and got heartbroken after that.” 

As soon as she finished her words, she set her glass down and went upstairs to look for Jeremiah. 

Four of them in the living room were perplexed. They remained at a loss until Yvette went upstairs and was out of sight. 

After a brief moment, Sienna gulped and clarified in surprise, “Yvette said Emmett experienced love at first sight and got heartbroken?” 

Chris, who was next to Sienna, looked rather shocked as well. He thought it was an unbelievable cliche, but it turned out that Frankie guessed it right about Emmett experiencing love at first sight. 

Even Bruce, who was usually composed, froze to the spot with his coffee cup in his hand. It was hard to imagine Emmett falling in love at first sight.
