After the lead vehicle was destroyed in the explosion, the convoy came to a halt.

Shawn cursed as he realized what had happened. He then pushed open the door.

"Find cover and protect each other! Kasen, spread out and find higher ground. Let's kill them!"

Although anger consumed him, his main concern was Sasha, who was still in the car ahead.

"Are you alright, Mrs. Larson?" Anxiously, he ripped the car door off, only to breathe a sigh of relief when he found her unharmed.

"Hey! Some of you come over and protect Mrs. Larson. And you, Baldy, watch out for yourself."

As soon as the words left his mouth, his subordinates immediately followed his orders.

Kasen took out his sniper rifle and signaled for the other snipers to spread out. Then, the group quickly dashed toward their predetermined positions with seamless coordination.

Before everyone could get into position, the sound of gunfire erupted. Countless bullets rained down on them.

As soon as Kasen positioned himself on the tree branch at the top of the hill, he immediately set up his sniper rifle to survey the surroundings. What he saw through the rifle scope made his stomach churn.

Hundreds of well-equipped enemies were poised and ready, waiting for them to enter the encirclement. Behind them, a convoy sped down the road. It was clear that their enemies intended to outflank them so that none of them could escape.

At that moment, the walkie-talkie pinned to his chest crackled to life. "How's the situation, Kasen?"

The voice belonged to Shawn. His heart sank deeper into his stomach after he listened to Kasen's report. Based on their strength, it's impossible to hold our ground.

The urgency of the situation left him with no time to formulate a plan.

"Kasen, have your men open fire. We'll take down as many opponents as we can."

"And Fitz, keep Mrs. Larson safe. If anything happens, I'll come for you," he barked his order.

With that, Fitz bent low and hurried toward the hill where Shawn and Sasha were hiding. Their enemies fired bullets at him simultaneously.

He bent double, swiftly moving to another location. As soon as he sniped another enemy in the new location, he switched positions again. The other snipers followed suit. They relocated right after taking down an enemy, frustrating their well-prepared enemies despite the ambush.

If they had enough ammunition and the enemy had no reinforcements, Kasen and the snipers were more than capable of eliminating the enemies. However, it was wishful thinking.

After Kasen took down another person, he realized that his magazine was nearly empty.

"Shawn, we're running low on ammo."

"All right! Let's break through on my mark."

Kasen and his men had already taken down a considerable number of enemies, and the snipers were diverting some of the enemy's attention. Therefore, now was the perfect time to break through.

"Let's go, Evander!"

Guns were pointed at Shawn and his men the moment they emerged from their cover.
