Seeing that Matthew remained completely still, Reuben's gaze grew more intense, overflowing with fury. His fist, driven by fierce momentum, aimed straight for Matthew's face.

Just as Reuben's fist was about to land, Matthew lifted his arm and clamped down hard.

Reuben's face turned crimson. He found himself unable to break free from Matthew's grip, no matter how hard he tried.

"What happened to Captain Reuben? How did he end up captured by that guy?"

Their voices were filled with disbelief.

"Matteo is awesome! Get rid of that b*stard from the Island Watch!"

The strong men from the dock erupted into cheers. They cast scornful glances at the soldiers from the Island Watch. Though they weren't speaking, their silence spoke volumes.

Reuben struggled with every ounce of strength, but Matthew's grip was unyielding.

The disbelief in the voices of the Island Watch soldiers struck him like a heart-wrenching blow.

A surge of overwhelming rage rose within Reuben, causing the veins to bulge all over his body. He clenched his left hand into a fist and swung it at Matthew.

"How dare you strike me? I'm a squad captain of the Island Watch! Striking me means defying the warden, and he won't let you get away with it! All of you, along with the dock, will be set ablaze!"

Fear began to creep into Reuben's eyes as he looked at Matthew. The young man remained expressionless throughout, eerily calm as if he were hollow inside.

Who the heck is he? In that instant, all Reuben wanted was to return and give his useless nephew a thorough thrashing, followed by an angry interrogation.

Matthew was definitely not someone he should provoke.
