Alex replied, "You have to be clear about it. Convincing your partner is crucial, you know? People can't read minds."

Everett pressed his lips together and, without further questions, instructed, "Check on Selena's flight right away."

The black Bentley sped off like a cheetah, quickly disappearing down the road.

Alex was on it in no time; about half an hour later, she called back.

Everett, wearing a Bluetooth earpiece, answered, "Go ahead."

"Mr. Everett, I've confirmed that her flight is set for ten..."

Just as the car approached an intersection, a massive truck from the right came hurtling toward them, ignoring the red light, and showed no signs of stopping.

There was a thunderous crash.

The truck slammed into Everett's car with a deafening noise, tires screeching as it was dragged a good distance, leaving the vehicle badly damaged.
