Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 481

Her hand reached out, only to grab at empty air. As Everett was about to walk inside, Margot's eyes flared with resentment and hurt. She shouted at his back, which was quickly disappearing from view.

"Everett, you promised William you'd look after me for the rest of my life. These past few months, Selena's hired trolls have dragged my name through the mud. I can't even step outside without getting insulted or spat on, and you've just turned a blind eye. Is this your idea of taking care of me?"

"Don't forget, your heart beats because of William. He gave you your life. Is this how you repay him?"

In the car, Alex gasped, covering her mouth in shock. She was hit with a juicy piece of high-society gossip!

So, Margot wasn't Everett's woman, but rather tied to the Bennett family's secret child? Was the big boss going to drag her out to be punished?

With a loud bang, Everett entered the mansion without looking back, slamming the heavy door shut. Margot was left outside, pounding on the door in frustration...

Inside, the mansion was as quiet as ever. Everett headed upstairs to take a shower, changed out of his wet clothes, and came back down wearing just a bathrobe. The servants had laid out dinner, still warm on the table, but he had no appetite. Instead, he went straight to the wine cellar, grabbed a few bottles, and slumped onto the couch, pouring himself glass after glass.

The rain hammered down harder, thunder rumbling in the background. His phone wouldn't stop buzzing—Margot wouldn't leave him alone, stubbornly calling over and over.

Before he knew it, he'd had a bit too much to drink, and his mind started to wander. He shouldn't be alone right now. It was all because of Selena, that heartless woman...

Later, her messages became more tentative, asking if he'd come home to see her. "Everett, I'm sick. Are you... Never mind, come home when you can. I learned to make your favorite dish today. I'll cook it for you, okay?"

He rarely replied, finding her too clingy and bothersome back then, often having Derick reply for him instead.

Eventually, she stopped sending messages. Was it these unspoken hurts that drove her to want a divorce so firmly? But even when he was by her side every day later, she still refused, still ran away so coldly!

Everett's heart grew hard again. Until he opened the messaging app and saw the top chat was between her and Margot!
