Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 521

The bathrobe was way too big, just hanging loosely on her.

He was just watching her...

But he had to look away.

Even though he absolutely despised her, he just couldn't bring himself to hurt her. He had never been the merciful type. Without a tough hand, he wouldn't have managed to outmaneuver his uncles and secure his spot as the head of the Bennett family, nor could he have grown Bennett Corporation to its current massive scale.

Yet, with Selena, he felt like a total wimp.

It was downright laughable.

In the past, no way would he have believed that he, Everett, could be so easily played by Selena and still be unable to touch her.

Everett glanced down at Selena, noticing she wasn't sleeping peacefully. Her delicate features were slightly scrunched up, and she seemed to be shifting uncomfortably, as if something was bothering her.

He frowned, sensing something was off.

Then, he untied the robe's belt and opened it to check on her.

The more he looked, the deeper his frown got, confusion bubbling up inside him.

Earlier, he had been blinded by anger...

How did he not see it...

Once he calmed down, his rationality and sharp mind returned.

Selena was the only woman he had been with, but he had seen enough of the dynamics between men and women in the business world to understand the basics.

Her situation didn’t seem like someone who was living a steady, routine life.

If her relationship with Callum was as great and stable as it seemed, how could they not be intimate...

Then, it hit him—what he had initially thought was her resistance to him.

Things seemed so different from what he’d imagined. He couldn’t help but glance at Selena again, irritably giving her cheek a light pinch.

Just how much are you keeping from me...

During those three years abroad, did you ever... even for a second, think of me?

Could that kid be mine?

A flood of questions swarmed his mind, relentless, making him want to wake her up and get all the answers at once.

But in the end, his heart softened.

He couldn’t help but chuckle at himself. When had he, Everett, become so indecisive? It didn't seem like him at all.

And yet, here he was, completely caught up in it...
