Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 607

After a moment, his voice carried a mix of sadness and relief. "Are you sure there was never a child?"

Selena nodded firmly.

Yeah...

Knowing Selena, if she had ever been pregnant, there was no way she'd have given up the baby. Her bond with family was unshakeable.

He knew her well, but when logic gets clouded, it's easy to miss the obvious.

He felt a twinge of regret for the child that never was. But on the flip side, she avoided the heartache of losing one, and that was a blessing in disguise.

"So, Mrs. Bennett, you still owe me a daughter," he teased with a grin.

Selena: "..."

She had just been wrapped up in her emotions, and now, out of nowhere, he had jumped to this.

Everett playfully flipped her onto her back, pinning her beneath him, and began tugging at her robe.

"Everett!"

Selena pleaded, "I can't take any more..."

He had been so wild earlier in the bathroom; now she was spent and just wanted to sleep.

"Can't handle it? Really? How could your man not keep up? Mrs. Bennett, you're underestimating your hubby..."

Then, with a determined flair, Everett proved he was more than up to the challenge.

The next morning, Everett and Selena were at the rooftop revolving restaurant, having breakfast to make up for the dinner they missed the night before.

Everett was brimming with energy, while Selena looked visibly tired, her eyes barely staying open.

What kind of superhuman stamina did this guy have?

They had only gone to bed around four or five in the morning, yet he was already so lively.

If she hadn't been trying to keep the peace, she would have skipped breakfast and gone straight back to bed.

After a moment, she added, "I'm just worried that by the time you get back, Mateo might not even remember you."

Kids have a knack for forgetting.

"Don't use the kid as an excuse. If you're gonna miss me, just say it. I won't laugh."

As Everett spoke, he unbuckled his seatbelt and pulled her onto his lap.

The space was tight, their bodies pressed close, and the air turned charged with intimacy.

Fearing he might start something again, Selena pressed her hands against his chest, but Everett held her close, kissing her deeply.

There was nowhere for her to escape as he closed in.

Amid the swirling emotions, she heard his tempting whisper in her ear.

"Selena, when I get back, let's have a big wedding, okay?"
