Everett froze for a moment, thinking he might have misheard. "Not willing?" he asked, a bit unsure.
Selena raised an eyebrow, leaving him no room for hesitation. "If you’re not up for it, then never mind," she said, turning on her heel to leave.
Everett quickly snapped back to reality, taking a few quick steps to catch up with her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, his dark eyes intense and his voice husky. "Willing? How could I not be? You have no idea how much I want this..."
Despite Selena's pregnancy adding a bit of roundness to her figure, she still seemed petite and delicate in his embrace. Everett lowered his head, breathing in the unique, subtle scent that always clung to her skin. She didn’t have to do much to stir something deep within him.
He knew Selena’s body well, and with her heightened sensitivity during pregnancy, even his lightest touch made her knees go weak. She leaned against his shoulder, her breathing soft and shallow.
Everett kissed her ear, teasing her softly, "Do you want it?"
A misty sheen covered Selena's eyes. She tried to glare at him, but to Everett, she looked irresistibly alluring and enchanting. He scooped her up effortlessly and laid her gently on the bed.
He kissed her lips with such tender care, almost afraid of causing her any discomfort. Feeling her fully respond to him, he caressed her flushed face. "Don't worry, I'll be gentle," he whispered.
Selena didn’t say a word; she just bit down hard on his shoulder.
Afterward, with her body slick with sweat, Everett worried she might catch a chill. He wrapped her snugly in the blanket. Once she stopped sweating, he went to the bathroom, soaked a hot towel, and gently cleaned her up.
While he was in the bathroom, Selena slipped out of bed, wrapped in the blanket, and made her way over to the coffee table. The call had long ended. She picked up her phone and decisively deleted the chat history before setting it back down.
Although provoking Yasmine was unnecessary, with the baby due soon, she wasn’t in the mood to waste time on her. She wanted to deal with it all now so she could have her baby peacefully, free from any future complications.
Everett, with no other option, handed over his phone.
"Go on, if you want. I’ll check on Mateo upstairs."
As he headed upstairs, Selena took the phone, opened the messages, but instead of replying to the parents' group, she found Yasmine's message.
She typed a line and sent it: "Would you like to be my date for Mateo’s school parents' day?"
Seeing the dots of a reply forming from the other side, she quickly retracted the message and sent another: "Sent by mistake."
Later that night, just before drifting off to sleep, Selena received a call from Blaine. His message was straightforward: "Yasmine is back in town."
