Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 657

The blow hit Everett harder than he expected, leaving him momentarily stunned. But Selena? She didn’t pay him any mind.

She settled into the couch, grabbed a bottle of lotion, and lifted her dress to reveal her fair, round belly. Pouring some lotion into her hand, she warmed it up between her palms before gently applying it. This was a special concoction from her beautician, safe for expectant mothers and perfect for preventing stretch marks. She was especially concerned about maintaining her looks with this larger pregnancy.

Money was no longer an issue for her, so she indulged in every luxury, especially since it was Everett’s money she was spending. It gave her a wicked sense of satisfaction.

Everett stormed over, crouching in front of her. His dark eyes locked onto hers, his handsome face clouded with frustration.

“Selena, are you doing this on purpose?”

She was keeping him on a string while entertaining other men. When did she get so good at juggling men like this? His perception of her was unraveling.

Was this really Selena?

Selena didn’t deny it. Instead, she cast him a sideways glance with her alluring eyes. “If you don’t want to stay, then go. I’m not holding you back.”

The message was clear: he had moved in by his own choice. She simply didn’t refuse, didn’t make the first move, and certainly didn’t make any promises.

Everett was genuinely vexed by her carefree demeanor. How was she learning all this right under his nose? Or maybe, ever since their divorce, she’d finally let herself be free?

His eyes tinged with red, angered by her nonchalance, yet he knew he couldn’t act against her in her delicate state. The frustration was like a storm inside him, with nowhere to go.

Yet, leaving wasn’t an option he could bear.

As they got into the car, Everett leaned over to buckle Selena’s seatbelt, stealing a quick kiss.

His eyes softened, his voice tender, “Selena, I know you still care about me.”

In the backseat, their son Mateo sat in his child seat, little hands covering his eyes but peeking through his fingers. “Daddy, you’re shameless!”

Selena playfully slapped Everett on the cheek. “Drive, you’re setting a bad example for the kid.”

Everett caught her hand and kissed the back of it, driving off in high spirits.

Selena glanced to the side, noticing in the side mirror a car following them at a distance. If her instincts were right, it was Yasmine.
