Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 717

Selena: "..."

Women really can't stand it when someone uses their age against them.

Selena's tears stopped in their tracks as she took a swing at him.

"What are you saying? Who are you calling old?"

Blaine quickly threw up his hands in surrender, "Alright, alright. You're not old. Forever eighteen, okay?"

...

Alexa stood by the roadside, watching the two people in the car—playfully teasing each other. Her husband looked so at ease, his eyes full of affection. It was a look she hadn't seen in what felt like ages.

She had always known her husband had set up a life with another woman in Rivertown. She just didn't want to face it, pretending nothing was wrong, hoping that if she ignored it, it would be as if it never happened.

She thought her husband had misunderstood her, and that's why he was behaving like this. As long as she worked hard to clear up the misunderstanding, they could go back to how things were.

But now, seeing it all with her own eyes, she couldn't lie to herself anymore. Her husband had fallen for someone else, even if that woman had been married and had two kids.

Indeed...

She'd seen pictures of Selena, and even though they were blurry, they couldn't hide her beauty. Seeing her in person was even more breathtaking. No wonder Blaine was captivated.

Even Alexa felt a tug at her heart.

And Blaine's refusal to divorce her wasn’t about love; he just wanted to keep punishing her. It was time to let go.

Alexa lowered her gaze and turned away, walking in the opposite direction of the car that was driving off.

Blaine felt a strange sensation and suddenly glanced out the car window. But the roadside was empty, just branches swaying in the breeze.

Selena asked, "What are you looking at?"

Blaine stared down the long street and shook his head, "Nothing, just noticed it's getting windy."

Seeing Selena, Blaine closed his eyes, forcing down his anger. His voice was a bit cold, and he didn't want to explain, only saying, "I have an emergency. I need to go to Paris for a bit."

He often traveled between Rivertown and Paris, so Selena was used to it. Since he didn't want to talk about it, she didn't push, though she guessed it might have something to do with his wife.

Selena nodded, "I understand."

"But there's something I need you to help me with."

"Tell me."

Blaine: "I've got a business meeting in Newport with an important partner. I can't miss it. Selena, I trust no one else but you. Can you go for me?"

Even though Selena wasn't thrilled about going back to Newport just then, she couldn't say no to Blaine's request.

"Alright, I'll go."

At 8 PM, Selena touched down in Newport. As soon as she switched on her phone, a message popped up.
