Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 817

As Joy kept acting out of character, pushing Selena's buttons, Selena couldn't help but think there was a reason behind it. Joy never did things on a whim.

Even though Selena didn't catch on at first, it hit her like a bolt out of the blue.

Joy was shocked, not expecting Selena to catch on so quickly.

Seeing Joy's surprise, Selena knew she had guessed right. A sly grin crept onto her face. "Well then, that's even better."

"Depression can lead to a mental breakdown. In such a shaky state, even if I did something to you, I'd get away with it, wouldn't I? Plus, I've got the best lawyer, my uncle Blaine, who's so good he could make people believe the dead are still alive."

Selena suddenly stepped forward, grabbed Joy by the hair, and slammed her against the wall.

Joy screamed, "Selena, don't you dare! Try laying a hand on me!"

Selena's face was a mask of calm. "Try me."

She yanked Joy's hair again, banging her head against the wall with a thud.

Joy felt dizzy. "Ah—Selena, you're crazy!"

Joy struggled fiercely, but Selena let her go abruptly, causing Joy to hit the floor, a mess of limbs and hair.

Selena looked down at her with a smirk. "Joy, if that's your best, you might want to practice a little more."

Just then, Holt burst in.

She scanned Selena anxiously, still catching her breath. "Miss, are you okay?"

Selena shook her head gently. "I'm fine. Let's go."

Holt quickly helped her out, leaving Joy behind without a second look.

Joy lay there for a while before she managed to get up, her pretty face twisted with rage.

She had planned for Selena to lose it in front of everyone, not to lash out at her!

Damn Selena!!

It was strange.

Mr. Everett had been all sweet and caring, but he ran hot and cold.

Every night at the villa, he was full of passion, with a quirky twist—he loved role-playing, always with a mask on, and never let her turn on the lights.

But come daylight, he was distant and unapproachable, so much so that she didn't dare flirt.

Was he just shy, or did he not care at all?

He hadn't even stepped in when Selena was being mean to her!

While Breanne was sulking, her phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, her expression shifted quickly. She found a quiet corner to pick up.

Her voice turned respectful. "Hello, Mr. Abraham."
